The WWE.com RAW Preview teases the follow up of the Unforgiven PPV, as logic would have it.
They are putting the main focus on what’s next for Kurt Angle and John Cena following the type of screwjob finish they did last night. The idea here was to do a finish that will allow them to work in a rematch at the Taboo Tuesday PPV, which is what should be happening. Expect this feud to continue through the next PPV, which would probably be the best thing to do right now. It’ll be interesting to see if this is going to be age-old booked rematch, or they try something new, seeing as Angle is on top of his game.
WWE.com actually has the guts to insult everyone’s intelligence by asking in what kind of condition is Ric Flair after partying it up last night, and passing out, WCW style, in the parking lot after having taken four viagra… I don’t know what the hell they’re thinking with this booking, but this is not the way to set up a storyline with Triple H, if they’re still doing that.
The WWE.com version of the RAW Preview also mentions to not miss out on Cade and Murdoch’s “Day One” of their Tag Team Titles reign. I’m assuming the two will also have their first title defense, most likely in a rematch from the PPV, seeing as WWE has been giving away PPV rematches rather fast lately.
The rest of the show should be interesting. WWE tends to either completely shift focus from old to new on their first show after a PPV, and if not they tend to put together a meaningless card with matches featuring Val Venis or Sgt. Slaughter, as well as continuations or follow-ups of their PPV storylines.
Hardy/Edge should get extra attention, and I don’t think this feud is over yet, although one would think they should end it here. I don’t know what could possibly be next for Matt, if it is over.
There’s only two more editions of RAW before the show moves to the USA Network. I have the feeling that we might be seeing Mr. McMahon tonight, and if not, there should still be some heavy advertising for the move. This seems like the perfect night to do it, having came off the PPV.
Kane should be making his return soon, but I think they’re saving that for 10/3.
Trish Stratus will most likely make an appearance.
Let’s see what happens!
