The following are a number of reports from John Cena’s rap concert in Cleveland following RAW this past Monday night:
REPORT #1:
Last night I attended the John Cena concert at Peabody’s. During a commercial break on Raw, they showed a clip for the concert and it said that the doors would open at 7:00 PM. Now I’ve been to concerts before and I’ve been to Peabody’s before. I figured it would be a while before Cena came on stage.
We got inside Peabody’s around 7:20 PM, and there was a set list on the stage. Cena and Tha Trademarc weren’t scheduled to go on stage until 11:00 PM. Let me start off by saying that it had to have been atleast 90 degrees in that joint. So the whole time between when we arrived and when cena came on, we were forced to listen to atleast 6 or 7 different wannabe white rap groups while sweating our asses off.
The funny thing about this was that no matter who was on stage, the fans continued to chant for Cena. Nobody gave a damn about any of the other acts, they just wanted to see Cena. You could tell by the look in some of the artists eyes that they were getting pissed that no one was paying any attention to them, while others understood that we all wanted to see Cena and ended their acts early.
Cena came out around 10:45 and rapped for about an hour with Tha Trademarc, Bumpy Knuckles, and DJ Ruckus. The crowd was alive and the Cleveland Chain Gang was definitely in the house. Before the last song, Cena raised up his WWE Championship belt and he said, “Being the champion isn’t just about holding up a piece of metal. It’s about taking care of the people who take care of you. I just want you all to know that everytime I raise this title up above my head, you all are raising it up with me!” After that, they played “The Time Is Now”.
It was most certainly worth it to see John Cena. He was awesome and I recommend checking him out when he comes to your area. The only thing I did not like, and I know for a fact that the others in attendance did not like, was that we had to wait for Cena for over 3 hours. I understand that he was advertised to be there with 2 other groups, but that only adds up to 3 acts. We had to listen to 5 other acts that sucked before we could even see the 3 that we had paid for. Maybe that’s just how Peabody’s is. I don’t know. But if you choose to go check Cena out and are only going to see Cena, either go late or call the place he will be at to see when he comes on. Once again, despite the outrageous temperature of the place and the hideous opening acts, it was definitely worth it to see John Cena live and in your face! (Thanks to Mike Greco)
REPORT #2:
I attended the John Cena concert at Peabody’s last night and I just wanted to let some of the fans know what to expect. First of all, let me say, it was horrible. There were a couple hundred people there. We had to wait three hours, watching unheard of bands perform such as Luminous, R.I.A., and some chick rock group. The concert was supposed to start at 7, but Cena didn’t come out until 10:30 and then only stayed until about 11:30. He only did a couple of songs. When he threw both of his shirts, people went crazy for them. I tried getting one, but gave up. The person who ened up getting it beat a girl to get it. It was just so crazy. Then, a fight broke out during one of his songs. He stopped the song and gave a little speech about being like family and he wasn’t gonna take people fighting like that. After performing My Time Is Now, he went backstage and chants of Cena broke out, making him come back out and do one more song.
Also, during the 3 hour wait period, there were many chants of “This Is Bullsh**” and “We Want Cena.” They obviously didn’t listen.
The best part of the concert was after the show. I waited, with other fans, for him to come outside for about fourty minutes. When he did, he was in a hurry to leave, but still made sure to give autographs, hugs, and even kisses to all his fans. He’s such a nice guy. I wouldn’t recommend going to his concert, but it’s worth it once you meet him, I guess. (Thanks to SexiLilAngel623@aol.com)
REPORT #3:
John Cena and Tha Trademarc had their second show in Cleveland last night(7/26). They didn’t go on until about 10:30 because Peabody’s, the location of the concert, decided to have eight groups opening for them…including a rock band…who I was surprised to find out after the show was promoted as being there along with one other group, but not 6 other groups. John and Trademarc along with Bumpy Knuckles, DJ Chaos and DJ Rukkus put on an amazing show. This was an all ages show and I know LOTS of parents were upset with the opening acts because they constantly kept swearing and telling the crowd to put up their middle finger. Cena and his boys did a decent job censoring themselves from the “f” word and were not nearly as raunchy as the other groups. All in all it was an AMAZING show as far as Cena’s part was concerned but I was disappointed that I drove 6 hours (I’m from Chicago) to have to sit through the LONGEST opening acts ever. Seriously…who has 8 opening acts at a small place like Peabody’s? (Thanks to Brittany Dyer)
