It’s great to be back after taking a week off. We really didn’t go anywhere but like Triple H, I thought taking time off would refresh my thoughts. Okay seriously I just got lazy and needed some time away. But now I’m back and ready to share my Great American Bash predictions with you. Thank you all for sending me your picks. Just from reading your predictions and comparing them with mine I can honestly say that tonight’s show isn’t as easy to pick as some many other shows are. Okay so let me show you my winners for the evening.
The BWO vs. The Mexicools
First I have to tell you I saw the BWO last night on Velocity in a six man tag team match against three jobbers, and I was extremely impressed with the BWO. This match was fast paced and very entertaining. So after watching them last night, I will bet you that this will be one terrific match tonight. I really hope that it isn’t rushed. I hope that these guys get enough time to give the fans something to really keep them interested in. There is no doubt in my mind that Juvi, Super Crazy and Psicosis will win, but you just watch the BWO make these three guys work their asses off for that win.
Winner: The Mexicools
WWE Tag Team Champions MNM vs. Heidenreich and Road Warrior Animal
Now if I were a teenager I might start this one with EWWWW. But since I’m a mature adult, and I use that term mature loosely I would say this is going to be painful to watch. Sure MNM will shine in this but an overweight Animal and an over rated Heidenreich are going to bring this down. Wait maybe MNM will shine so much that even their opponents won’t be able to wreck this one. MNM will win, and if they don’t I don’t even want to discuss how I will feel about an MNM loss.
Winners: MNM
Bra and Panties Match- Melina vs. Torrie Wilson Special Referee, Candice Michelle
I’ll keep this short, Melina wins, all you men win, and I believe if the rumors are right that this could be the last time you see Torrie with or without clothes on. Supposedly with her husband Billy Kidman released she might be the next one to go. The rumor goes on to say that because Torrie was on the poster for GAB they wanted to keep her for the show. But due to her very unprofessional behavior backstage her days are numbered. So whatever happens to Torrie, Melina will win.
Winner: Melina
Booker T vs. Christian
I will say that Christian has gotten the best of Booker lately. But Christian hasn’t really won that BIG match. You know a lengthy important match. While I could see Booker winning this and I would be fine with it, I’m going with Christian. A win for him would be a good way to start building Christian up more and more like he was on Raw. I think this is going to be a very good match, and maybe one of the top ones of the show.
Winner: Christian
Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio
This should be the match of the night. These two guys should just be able to keep the pace going and not hold back on each other at all. We have all seen more than enough of this feud, so I would expect to see both men move on after tonight. I know I have said that before but I think most of the fans are ready for this all to end. Again I see Rey and Eddie giving their all and I’m guessing Eddie wins. It seems like Rey has beaten Eddie too many times, and it’s time for Guerrero to finally put Rey in his place. Now remember if Eddie wins, the secret comes out. But I have a feeling should Rey win the secret will still come out thanks to Eddie making sure that happens.
Winner: Eddie Guerrero
United States Championship – Orlando Jordan vs. Chris Benoit
Is it me, or has Jordan been a rather worthless U.S. champion? And I’m not blaming Orlando for that; I’m blaming Vince and his team for just doing nothing with Jordan or the title. That’s why tonight I see Chris Benoit winning and if he should win they better make this title almost as important as the World Title. I believe Orlando is going to look like gold with Benoit as his opponent. I don’t think anyone that Chris faces has ever looked weak, and tonight should not be an exception. I’m sure this will be a very good match, and if Chris doesn’t win than I would imagine this would be a Summer Slam rematch, but tonight I’m going with Benoit.
Winner: Chris Benoit
Muhammad Hassan vs. Undertaker
Wow there is a very sad situation here. I don’t know how many of you have been keeping up with the Hassan/UPN/WWE news, but according to all, the Hassan will be no more after tonight’s show. I find this sad because the man that has played him so realistically, Mark Copani, many of you know him as Mark Magnus, which I have read was also a stage name is supposedly going back down to OVW to get reinvented. So if all was true that he was supposed to beat Taker tonight, thanks to a Randy Orton run in, and then go on to meet Batista and Summer Slam for the title he now has lost that top spot because of WWE not editing out the “terrorist” angle two weeks ago. I still blame UPN as well for letting it air. My heart breaks for this guy and whether you thought UPN went to far in demanding that they keep Hassan off TV, or Vince was insensitive by not editing the show, it still all boils down to a guy losing his position and starting all over again. So I have to go with Taker because of all of this, and I would think Taker will basically dominate this match from beginning to end and destroy Hassan.
Winner: Undertaker
World Heavyweight Championship – Batista vs. JBL
At least for me a Taker win does not change my pick for this match. I’m staying with Batista no matter what. I cannot see JBL getting that title again. I cannot see Batista losing it so fast not when the WWE is making him WWE’s future. I think this match will be okay, not great but good. I would love JBL to be out of the title race after tonight, but that is something that remains to be seen. I do feel that after the great job he did against Hunter in the Hell In A Cell match, Batista will be working very hard to make this a top match. I do know at pay per views, JBL puts a lot into his matches so as I said this should come off well.
Winner: Batista
So there you have them, and I’m not as confident as I was last month with my Vengeance picks, you know the ones were I got them all right? See I have to say that because I don’t see that happening again tonight. I will not be ordering the show, not because I don’t think it’s worth ordering, but because it gets to expensive to order each month. I’m holding off until Summer Slam. For those of you that are going there live, I would love to hear how the show was. And for those of you ordering, I hope you will share your thoughts with me on what you saw. I’ll be checking recaps continuously which is something I enjoy doing. I will be back on Tuesday to talk about my Raw thoughts. Remember tomorrow it’s Rap vs. Metal when John Cena takes on Fozzy. And it’s another Edge vs. Kane match only it’s a stretcher match, and let this please be the end of their feud. And I hope to God we don’t see another Benjamin vs. CCC match for the I.C. Title. Look I don’t mind those two, in fact I enjoy their matches, but if I see another one where Carlito walks out and gets counted out, yes I will scream. So I’ll be back on Tuesday with what I hope will be a favorable Raw column.
