I was at the BCW show in Windsor on Friday which had Bret hart appearing at it. Before the show Bret was sitting with Jimmy Hart and Jim Neidhart signing autographs. I waited about 2 hours in the line and then I finally went up for the autographs. I noticed while i was waiting Bret wasn’t being very friendly. He wasn’t talking to most people and was just signing the autograph that was placed in front of him, and then just signing the rest without even looking at the people. When I went up and talked to him about the belt I was getting him to sign he didn’t even respond. He did shake my hand and give me a smile so it was worth it. Bret seemed like he was pretty sick of signging autographs but still came off as being a nice guy. Bret made an appearence during the show and thanked everyone for coming out. It was a great show with about 1,000 people there and included a great match between Petey Williams, Alex Shelly, Chris Sabin, and AJ Styles. (Thanks to Rudager Harris)
In a recent interview “The Edge 102.9” with Alex Engram, Stevie Ray was quoted as saying his wrestling career is all but over. His shoulder is in constant pain and his body is aging faster than he would like. He went on to say that the success he and his brother (Booker T) had in WCW is unparalelled by any tag team. If there run as a group wasn’t cut short they likely would have went on to break many more tag team records. He said Booker T isn’t extremely happy in WWE currently as he feel his charecter has grown stale. He says it reminds him of his uphill climb in WCW. Booker T has been very vocal that after his current deal he may opt to end his tenure with WWE and concentarte mainly on his many business ventures and spending time with his family. Stevie Ray said Booker T has pitched a new Harlem Heat to Vince and others several times and has turned a deaf ear to the idea. They feel Harlem Heats success would not translate as well with WWE crowds. (Thanks to Chris Pascoe)
There is an article on TV.com on Brock Lesnar’s WWE return. It reads as follows: “In his starting year in the WWE, Brock Lesner has made an impact. He’s already a 3-Time WWE Champion and still the champion. Brock Lesnar was a part of Ohio Valley Wrestling before transferring over the the WWE. He got his rep by beating The Rock and Summerslam 2002 and becoming the youngest WWE champion of all time (next to The Rock). Brock Lesnar is 6’4, 295 pounds of raw power, speed, … Continue.” In addition to that, under “Upcoming Appearances” it says listed at the top “WWE Pay-Per View: SummerSlam 2005; Sunday 21 August, 2005.” Take that for what you will.
