Welcome one and all to Eddie’s RAW Preview. I hope that everyone out there had a wonderful fourth of july weekend and tonight’s RAW will be a great way to end it all. On behalf of TheBalrogsLair.com, Happy Independence Day!
WWE.com’s RAW preview for tonight as of late Sunday night when I’m writing this is pretty much down to three main points. They’re plugging that tonight we will see the biggest edition of Carlito’s Cabana yet, which is true, as he’ll have Hulk Hogan as his guest. They have a video up on WWE.com to promote that, where Carlito says Hogan should not get out of line. From what I understand, this segment will be fun. Seeing as the show is in Sacramento, it’ll be interesting to see if The Rock or Roddy Piper make an appearance. This seems like the appropriate place to do that. Carlito will definitely get a rub here.
The second item that WWE.com really wants you to know about is the first-ever Bikini Boot Camp that Sgt. Slaughter is putting together. Oh boy, that’s going to be fun! Ugh. Well, hopefully it’ll turn out to be better than I expect, and it’ll be kept short. The diva search did a very good quarter rating last week. If the trend continues, then I won’t be against it. As long as it brings in good ratings, it’s somewhat justified. (Key word being somewhat.)
The third thing that the website is teasing is that we might find out what Kane had on mind last week when he told Lita that she’s had her fun on his expense and now it’s time for him to have fun on hers. I don’t know where this is headed, but they need to drop the Kane/Edge/Lita issue, because the latest word is that Matt Hardy is expected to return soon. And how lame of them to push Kane as a monster again after all the character changes he’s been through? Geez, think of something new for the guy!
I’m not sure if Triple H will be back on the program yet, but if he is, I expect him to start a new program with someone, perhaps Kurt Angle. If you read the website over the weekend, you might have seen a Spoiler alert. There’s a chance they’re going with Edge vs. Cena for SummerSlam, and if that’s the case, then I’m guessing Angle/Triple H is the second pair up on the card. They’re both heels right now, which makes it an odd one. We’ll see what goes down and how they twist the card.
Logically, I would expect Angle to be involved with Triple H and Ric Flair this week, and perhaps even John Cena. Cena was, after all, planned to feud Angle on SmackDown! so I don’t see why not bring that rivalry to RAW. With a possible Hardy comeback, it makes sense to shaft Edge from the World Title spot again. Although it doesn’t make sense to do that from a different viewpont – due to his Money in the Bank gimmick. Ugh, WWE is really dropping the ball here.
There’s lots of talent on RAW and no storylines for it. Big Show, RVD, Shelton Benjamin, and Chris Jericho all have to be accounted for somehow.
We’ll probably hear from Chris Masters, who will want Tajiri.
I am expecting that we’ll also hear from the six wrestlers that were traded to RAW Thursday night after SmackDown! went off the air – Suzuki, Hiroko, Dupree, Danny Basham, Chavo Guerrero (why he’s going to RAW is beyond me), and Mark Jindrak. Jindrak might pair up with Angle again.
Could this be the night Trish returns?
Big Vis might stick his nose in the Diva Search segment again.
