WWE actually contacted Matt Hardy several days prior to the Monday Night RAW segment that featured Lita and Edge’s wedding. WWE basically asked him to give them some time for a potential offer to be made to him, before he agrees to any deals with TNA. The latest word we’re getting on the situation is, that based on reaction from the crowd over the past few weeks, WWE management has finally opened their eyes and realized that there’s a big potential angle on RAW for Hardy, against Edge and Lita, that the fans would love to see. This certainly raises Matt Hardy’s stock, in WWE, or outside of it, as he can get big money working the indy scene, or Japan, with sources reporting he’s requested up to $3,000 per booking.
TNA has made Hardy an offer and wants him to debut for the company at their No Surrender PPV, which takes place on July 17. Hardy’s “no compete” clause from WWE expires on July 11, so he will be able to appear on TNA’s PPV if he wants to. The idea was for him to start a program with Jeff Jarrett. Meanwhile, Jeff Hardy is held back in TNA for disciplinary reasons, but also because of Matt’s potential debut, many feel.
It’s a really interesting situation, as Hardy’s stock can be worth a lot more outside of WWE, while on the other hand, he’d probably like to return home. We’ll keep you updated.
