Tonight’s edition of Monday Night RAW might be a wreck. I hope I’m wrong and that they give us a good show, of course, but having in mind what they have cooking for tonight, I can’t help but have a bad feeling about this one.
WWE.com’s preview for the show as of early Monday morning has all the attention put on the main event match announced for tonight – Kurt Angle vs. Batista. It’ll be interesting to see if Angle and Batista have chemistry in the ring. This one should end with interferences by Triple H and Michaels.
Speaking of which, they should give more time to Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels. The fact of the matter is that they blew the program for the WrestleMania rematch between the two. A rematch of that calliber could very well carry a PPV on its own as a main event, and they rushed it out of nowhere, giving it only a week for a push. HORRIBLE BOOKING!
WWE.com barely mentions John Cena’s name and reminds you that after Cena and Angle, there’s going to be a third draft pick selected tonight. No clue as to who it is, but I hope it’s not another main eventer. SmackDown! can not afford to give anyone else away. A mid-card guy who deserves a good push would be the best way to go here, possibly with a face.
Lita‘s wedding is the last thing WWE.com’s Preview focuses on. They note that two weeks after her divorce papers were filled, she’s already back in the altar. The fact that this is almost impossible in the real world is not mentioned, if you’re wondering. Anyway… From what I’ve heard, Trish Stratus is making her return to RAW tonight, and my guess is that it will be either during Lita’s wedding, and if not then during…
The Diva Search makes its return to TV as well, as we’ll be introduced to this year’s… competitors. Christy Hemme is in charge this year, so I guess at least we don’t have to look at Coach for 10 minutes per week now. Trish might show up here as well. Another potential spot is for her to confront Viscera, seeing as he left her injured last time she was on TV.
There’s a chance that Superstar Billy Graham might make an appearance on tonight’s broadcast.
The rest of RAW should be your usual stuff. Tons of Vengeance hype with the PPV only six days away, as well as the usual making their appearances – Chris Masters, and perhaps Big Vis, although I don’t see what kind of PPV bouts they can work in for them.
This has been a very weird time for RAW, with some horrible storylines being booked and some huge things such as the Cena jump happening all at once.
Tomorrow’s show looks bad, but let’s give them the chance, and see what they deliver.
