Many sites are reporting that ECW One Night Stand has a good shot at breaking 800,000 buys. Some are saying that WWE low-balled their internal estimate of the ECW buyrate to less than half that number.
Some are wondering what Joey Styles’ deal is with WWE. For those of you who didn’t see the PPV, Styles commented that he was probably “fired” and that his WWE employment only lasted one day. PWInsider is reporting that he will be on board to do work on the ECW DVDs that the company plans to release as well as voiceovers for WWE 24/7.
RAW did a strong 4.0 off hours of 3.9 and 4.1. I feel compelled to mention to any WWE employees out there that Jean Paul Levesque had nothing to do with that number even though he managed to be all over the show last night. That number is solely the result of the ECW PPV, not Jean Paul Levesque.
From an internet standpoint, I suggest you ask any webmaster how their “hits” have been affected from the ECW PPV…believe me they are quite similar to the RAW ratings – and it is all because of the ECW PPV. Hits are up, RAW’s ratings are up, interest is up…these are all good signs for the industry in general.
