WWE has let go Steve Taylor, who has been with the company since the 80s. Taylor worked his way up from being a photographer for the company to a very well-paid executive, in charge of live events operations, such as setting up the arenas and taking care of the crew, which is a vital part on WWE’s tours. He was let go alongside his assistance, and the reason we’re getting for the release is that WWE has been doing lots of cost-cutting moves recently, with this one just added to the list. With RAW moving to the USA Network, WWE will be losing about 10 million dollars, so they have to compensate somehow, I guess.
Speaking of executives who are leaving the company, many are now wondering if Brian Gewirtz, who took a leave of absence as I reported earlier on this site, will be ever coming back to the company. Gewirtz, who was burnt out upon his leave due to working so hard for so long, has been saying for quite some time now he wants to accomplish other goals of his. Perhaps helping out with WWE Films will keep him in the company, as WWE desperately wants him to stay. For now, Ed Koskie, who’s been the second man next to Gewirtz for years, is running things.
