Following next week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, it’ll be interesting to see how WWE follows up on what seemed to be a perfect edition of RAW. WWE.com is plugging the two semi-final matches of the Golden Rush tournament, which should be interesting bouts, with Benoit taking on Kane and Edge taking on Shawn Michaels in a renewal of their recent feud. I would have personally liked to see Christian with Benoit, but that’s another topic.
I would expect the final of the tournament to end up as Benoit and Edge, with Edge most likely taking the win. He’s pretty much the strongest heel on the program after Triple H, or at least the heel they should be pushing the most. To be honest, for once they have surprised me with their booking, because I expected Triple H to win this tournament, but they’re obviously going in a different direction. My best take is, indeed, Edge, otherwise I won’t be surprised to see a Shawn Michaels title match, or a Chris Benoit bout. After all, Benoit beat H, and it would make sense for him to go all the way, as well. It’s a tough choice, so let’s stay tuned, I guess.
WWE.com is also plugging that we’ll hear from Triple H this week, regarding the events that took place in the main event last week. I’d expect another “I’m mad at the world” promo, with possibly some jobber or midcarder suffering through The Game’s anger in the form of a squash.
Triple H vs. Benoit is another possibility for a PPV match if they have Michaels or Edge win the tournament.
Expect Viscera’s storyline to continue on RAW.
We should see another Chris Masters segment. I’m guessing someone will get out of that submission soon.
It’ll be interesting to see what they do with Christian this week, seeing as it’ll probably determine his fate and future. They’ll probably keep him heel, since the plan is for him to go to SmackDown and feud a babyface – Cena. I’m guessing he will end up in a PPV match with Kane, or he’ll get the shaft, just like at Backlash. It’s sad that WWE is killing the only person who’s interesting on the show lately.
One can’t help but wonder what’s in stored for Shelton Benjamin following last week’s classic with Michaels. I’m sure he’ll get the pay-off from the bout in some fashion.
It’s really an unpredictable RAW tomorrow, and that’s a good thing!
