Doug Herzog, president of SpikeTV, teamed up with Dana White, president of UFC, to announce a major deal between the two entities. There will be two more seasons of Ultimate Fighter airing on SpikeTV, starting on August 22. The deal also included two UFC TV specials on SpikeTV this year, as well as another four specials in 2006. For those wondering, filming for the next season of Ultimate Fighter begins next month.
A big reason why this is so important is because included in the deal are 26 one-hour television shows that UFC will be producing and that will air on Saturday nights on SpikeTV that will feature the best fighters of the promotion over its twelve-year history. This is definitley a big deal for both UFC and SpikeTV, so congratulations to both parties, and let’s hope the success of Ultimate Fighter is just as big the second time around.
