Well, I’m finally back to contributing 100% to TBL! On with the RAW Preview…
WWE.com is plugging this edition of RAW as they should – it is basically the follow-up of Backlash. What can you expect on tonight’s RAW, you ask? Well I’m here to look into the future and take a wild guess as to what could be happening on tonight’s show.
— They will definitely play off of Triple H’s fury last night at the PPV. I’m not sure if we’re headed towards a Ric Flair turn or not, but I do know this series is headed to a third match (SummerSlam?) that should be Hell In A Cell. I do have to mention here that unless we get the interview from Batista that we didn’t get the night after WrestleMania, he will be absoutely dead as champion, and he’s damn near it as it is.
— There should be an update on Startus tomorrow. The gimmick at the PPV was done because she has been having some problems with her back, and she needs some time off to rehab it. As far as Big Vis goes, I won’t be surprised if he gets a short-lived push out of this. At least for tomorrow’s RAW, so a babyface pair up will be possible. (Benoit?)
— They should play off of the heel turns they started at the PPV yesterday, specifically what seems to be a much-needed heel turn by Chris Jericho, as well as the heel turn that has to happen – Lita. The crowd is not going to buy her as a face, so they simply have to turn her. As far as Jericho goes, he’s one of the very few consistent characters on the show, and his turn is very important. I would look for it to be a slower deal, rather than a one-night fling, unless booked well. Jericho usually has a lot of say over these things.
— I expect the new tag team champions to be on RAW. It’s nice how two guys who are usually on Heat win the Tag Team Championship on a program they only get on to get beat by Triple H in a handicap match. Yes, folks. Your new tag team champions have already been beaten by The Game.
— A lot of focus should be put on Edge tomorrow. They’ve dropped the ball on him since WrestleMania, and although he had a great match with Benoit at Backlash and he’s been a consistent part of the show, he just seems to be “another guy” on there. Although they did it recently, a feud with Benjamin might be interesting.
— I expect Chris Masters to be on the show.
— A lot of bitching and moaning from Daivari and Hassan should take place at RAW tomorrow, and that’s a good thing. I don’t know if they’ll be doing Hassan vs. Hogan at SummerSlam or not (They’ll probably wait for the Backlash PPV buys to come in before they make that decision), but the smart thing here is to continue pushing Hassan. He’s shown improvement, and has a lot of momentum going.
— It’s clear that they’re just going to let John Cena have his way with Christian once Christian moves to SmackDown. That’s a horrible decision, and unless Christian has some kind of future on SmackDown (and on a show where JBL and John Cena can be heavyweight champions, I really don’t see why Christian can’t be), then they’re losing a lot with this.
I hope this will do it! More updates from me to come, since I’m back in business now!
