I had planned on talking about some of the rumors going around this past week, and I will, but I would also like to throw in some very interesting email I have been receiving, since Thursday night’s Smackdown. And the subject is about one person, one person that seems to have warmed a few hearts since his little segment a few days ago. Unfortunately this man didn’t warm my heart even a little but I will get into that in a little bit. Let me start with a few rumors.
The draft lottery is said to take place on May 30th. This way Backlash is over, and Judgment Day will be done. And Vince will be able to switch guys around without affecting any feuds for either pay per view. So we have a month to wonder what men and women will make a move to the other show. I know I am definitely looking forward to this, but only if main talent moves from one show to another. Let’s face it last years draft was rather lackluster except for RVD going to Smackdown. I always felt Rob would be perfect on that show, so that was the highlight of the draft for me. As I mentioned a while back there were so many names going back and forth but the latest and it seems the hottest rumor is that Dave Batista will go to Smackdown and John Cena will bring his title to Raw.
I find this hard to believe. Management supposedly is much more comfortable with John Cena has champion then Batista. They feel that Dave and Hunter have no chemistry, and that trading Batista to Smackdown and putting him with, are you ready? JBL would possibly give him the chemistry that he’s missing with Hunter. Dear God, I just have to say I can’t believe this is going to happen. Hey if they want to give Smackdown Batista then fine, but don’t use the excuse that there’s no chemistry between Dave and Hunter, but feuding with JBL might work out. I think there is definite chemistry between Hunter and Batista, however without a doubt, the creative team dropped the ball and the once very volatile feud has now cooled off way too much. If the team would get their act together, maybe watch some earlier footage, then they could tweak a few things and bring the heat back at full steam. But as I said I say this rumor will not happen and if it does happen trust me I’ll be totally shocked.
Okay now for the email, I mentioned on Tuesday that after Christian’s outstanding performance with Vince on Raw Monday night the feedback has been all pro when I comes to Captain Charisma. Well it’s funny because right now I’m getting quite a bit of feedback no not as much as I am still getting about Christian but quite a bit, and it’s all about John Heidenreich. After his “hilarious” segment with the Brooklyn Brawler, the man as now become somewhat of a fan favorite by so many of my readers. Sure I got a few where they thought the segment was funny but still don’t like the guy, however I am getting so many of you asking me why I continue to bash him when he came off so well Thursday night. In fact the Brooklyn Brawler didn’t seem to make any impact on Smackdown, no it was all John Heidenreich. While I totally could understand the pro email on Christian I have received this was something I never expected and I’m still rather surprised that Heidenreich made just a positive impression on so many of you.
As many of you know Heidenreich again bored me this past week. WWE showed has showed us all again that he can only be used for so called poetic readings because of his weak wrestling skills. Now see here’s where I have a problem, I don’t need to see a man that really shows nothing in the ring, coming out week after week reading some idiotic poem.
Granted when he kidnapped Michael Cole that I found funny, when he would run in and take someone out that was okay, but to throw him out there for a reading is where I have a major problem. I have this bad feeling that Heidenreich isn’t going to leave TV so the only thing I would do is find him a face to tag with. This way he could get some wrestling time in, but not enough time where he would look extremely bad in the ring. But unlike Carlito, Heidenreich doesn’t have that charisma well at least for me he doesn’t, and making him read poems is far from entertaining.
Finally many of you where not happy at all about the chants that Lita got at MSG. A lot of you could not understand how I found it one of the best parts of the show. As many of you pointed it out to me, Matt going public was just one side of the story and Lita and Edge chose to keep this matter as private. I replied by saying that the day WWE fired Matt was the day that Matt’s fans were given the green light to let Vince know just how they feel. While what happened is not my business and while many of you feel that Lita and Edge are the money makers, Matt gave a lot to the company and sending him to Smackdown would have been the right thing to do. But since that didn’t happen I’ll guarantee the chants will die down but it’s not going to happen over night. Matt’s fans are hurt and they want everyone to know that. And honestly I cannot believe that Lita, Edge and the McMahon’s didn’t see this coming. Well if they didn’t after last week I would think that they will all be ready for the next round. Although, I am reading that Edge doesn’t mind it at all he loves the chants. He supposedly said that he makes for great heel heat. So after a remark like that if it’s true, you can bet Matt’s fans will not go down quietly.
So there you have it a lot has happened this past week and now it’s on to the last
Raw before Backlash, taped from Birmingham, England. Lita I believe is still in the states, so if the fans intend to carry on where the MSG fans left off I guess Edge will get the heat that he likes so much. It’s CLB vs. Batista and with Christian’s wrestling skills this should be a good one, and I’m wondering what Hassan and Daivari have planned for Shawn Michaels. I’m thinking Hogan didn’t make the trip, but then again you never know. I look forward to the show tomorrow night. I remember how great those fans were at the last Raw taping. And finally thank you all for sharing your live Raw and Smackdown experiences with me. I have loved reading your recaps. Thank you again.
