WARNING: The following RAW Preview contains some spoilers for tonight’s show. Although the nature of this little corner of TBL has been me guessing things, I actually know of some things that are supposed to happen on RAW this week. If you’re not interested in being spoiled, please don’t read below. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Last week’s episode of Monday Night RAW was not exactly good. The company seems to be quickly losing the momentum it built off of WrestleMania. Although the weekends are still high, one can’t help but wonder if that will last even past this week. What will they do on RAW to bounce back? Well, they have the answer…
WWE.com’s RAW Preview can be summed up in two words – “Watch RAW.” They pretty much did their usual thing and recapped what went down last week, and asked you questions, thinking it’ll make it more exciting to see the show. Such questions are will Hogan respond to HBK’s plead, will Triple H kill Ross, and will Jericho or Benjamin go at it?
The answer to all three is yes.
Hulk Hogan is all but confirmed to appear at Monday’s RAW tomorrow night. The show takes place in Madison Square Garden, and the way the storyline with Michaels and Hassan is going, this is a good place to have Hulk appear. I won’t be surprised if they somehow save it to go up last, but that doesn’t really matter. Expect the huge pop to take place. This is WWE’s answer to a bad show last week and their last hope of keeping up the solid ratings (above 4.0) they’ve gotten thanks to ‘Mania. We’ll see if it works. Logic would have me think that next week’s rating (after Hogan’s appearance tomorrow) will be solid, but this week’s will be lower due to a bad show last week.
Triple H vs. Jim Ross is an interesting situation, now that Triple H is injured. The severity of his injury is still unknown but last we heard, he was expected to wrestle on Monday. Seeing as he’s in there with Ross of all people, it’s not like he’ll have a showcase of strength and ability, anyway. I expect this to be bad. WWE style. MSG style. I can’t believe Ross hasn’t quit yet.
Kane and Lita should continue their “f*** U Matt” storyline that really doesn’t serve much of a purpose. Kane has nothing to do at the time, so I guess hooking him up with Lita was a good way to go. The problem here is that – at least from where I stand – they’re more heels right now, than they are faces. Is it just me or does everyone who works with Trish and is a face ends up looking weaker than her and becomes a heel? Amazing.
Edge should be bragging more and more about his Money-in-the-Bank rights. He should be pinning Beniot at Backlash, so the set up should take place tonight on RAW.
Nobody really cares, but Chris Masters’ challenge is taking place tonight. I have no idea who his opponent is. It could be anyone from Hogan to a local jobber.
I think turning Jericho or Benjamin heel is a horrible mistake. A bigger one with Benjamin. I hope they work something out in that feud, but both men need to remain face, or they’re doomed as a heel. Jericho as a heel is too worn out after a four-year run as such and recently turning face, whereas a Benjamin heel turn is devastating as he’s not ready for that yet.
Well, let’s see what happens tomorrow on RAW!
