I promised a column about the ladder of a good wrestling show. Come to realize that A) there is a better story out right now, B) the ladder is a simple concept and C) we both know that the WWE and TNA’s ladder is very hard to climb. Let me go into the basic premise and let you in on what a good ladder is…Just like a real ladder we have many steps. Each step represents a division. Division of low-carders, mid-carders, high-carders, main eventers, and where they should be and who they should feud with. In between we have mid-card titles, low-card titles, and of course main event titles and any of these titles can move up with a certain emphasis put on them. Right now as we all know that the WWE and TNA has steps missing, and those important sides which hold the steps in place otherwise known as STORYLINES are very crooked and need repair. On that note I move on to TNA’s two saviors…
of course, this is speculation, everyone’s first thought is Matt will make the jump to TNA. Let’s remind ourselves that he can’t even make such a move until late July so we have to focus on TNA’s product in late July. The obvious is there, Matt Hardy joins to feud with Americas Most Wanted. Maybe even come in at a Pay-Per-View where Team Canada holds the tag team titles and triumphantly comes in at the last second and wins the titles only to have AMW standing in their way afterwards…Either way think about it, Hardy Boyz vs. Americas Most Wanted. It’s a dream match. Tag teams never die either. Look at the Rockers, L.O.D., The Outsiders, people will always love the big tag teams so this wouldn’t be stale and it would be very believable. What does this do? Well with the Hardyz, AMW, Team Canada, and hopefully although people go against this, BG James and Billy Gunn as a tag team again. These 4 teams would single handedly bump up the TNA tag division to the point where most people would agree that they have a far superior tag division…It doesn’t stop there.
Raven and Jeff Hardy’s feud will end around July, maybe sooner but with Hardy out of singles action this leaves Raven someone else to feud with. We all know the possibilities of Sabu returning which I think would be awesome. Consider eliminating options…who else would feud with Raven? What about Chris Sabin? Sabin vs. Raven! It rhymes! Think of the ratings if Sabin and Raven went at it for a few months.
What about the old farts? Dustin Rhodes is here to stay unfortunately, so we have to assume that he will feud with the younger talent and put over upcoming heels, at least I hope so. How long will Sean Waltman last? Not long, even TNA isn’t that stupid. With Gunn in the tag division and Nash and DDP already having their title shots, by the process of elimination we have to assume that all of these old farts WILL be out of the tag division, so what leads to the main event? Styles, Abyss, Brown, Killings, it’s truly time for these guys to shine in the main event spot now. All of this because Matt Hardy comes in and tweaks the TNA ladder a little bit and balances it out.
Molly Holly
What could Molly Holly possibly do? Lets call her Nora first, it’s her real name and Vince owns the name “Molly” She would not go to TNA to be a valet, she would not go there to job to untalented womens wrestlers like Christy Hemme, she would go to TNA and ask “where’s the womens division?” With Nora we could single handedly have a re-birth of the TNA womens division, and one that would rival the WWE’s with total ease. TNA has access to indy talent! I’ve said these names many times, but MsChif, Daizee Haze, Krissy Vaine, Ariel, Alere Little Feather throw in Traci, Trinity, even Desire, top it off with a tough bitch like Nora and you’ve got a womens division that is twice the womens division the WWE is. It’s THAT SIMPLE!
So what would we have with the simple arrivals of Matt Hardy and Noreen Greenwald? A balanced and respectable womens division, a balanced and exciting tag team division, an already great X-Division with Daniels and Skipper, and with the “future of wrestling” leading the way in the main event with Killings, Styles, Brown, and Abyss, TNA will ACTUALLY become competition for Vince! All because of 2 free agent acquisitions. Yes, it is that simple!
It was hard writing this column because there is not much to write on right now…John Cena is running with Smackdown and we are seeing what will happen and if, scratch that, how WELL he can do it. Batista is the one that we’ll see IF he can do it. Jericho is stuck in another mid-card feud again, and Benoit carries another Raw main event, yet it’s Triple H and Batista who the top spots…I’m going to go now. Here’s some plugs!!!
PLUGS!
