It’ been a rather quite news week, but there are three big rumors floating around the sites. One of the top rumors has me very sad and upset. The other rumor makes me smile, and there is more about the upcoming draft. While I feel all of these subjects are rumors since nothing has been documented on WWE’s site, the one about Rhyno, I believe is true. Remember as you read this just put it in the back of your mind that this is a column with the latest rumors.
According to reports, last week after Wrestlemania Rhyno and his wife got into an argument at the Universal Sheraton Hotel in California. Rhyno then broke a large flowerpot in the lobby with many fans witnessing the incident. Rhyno was talked to by WWE management and after that talk flew home and was a no show at Raw the next night. This happened as I said Sunday night, and on Friday WWE released Rhyno. As I said I haven’t seen a thing on WWE’s site, but the reports that continue to come out seem to be very true.
I feel that this was extreme punishment for a man that broke a vase in a hotel lobby. Management’s reasoning was that it was all done in front of fans. Rhyno was set up in that hotel by WWE which means he was representing the company and his little incident is something that could make WWE look anything but good. Well here’s my take on this whole situation. It’s all BULL as far as I’m concerned. If Rhyno was released it was because this was the perfect excuse to get rid of him. Rhyno has been miss-used since he arrived in the WWE. Except for Rhyno teaming up with Tajiri months ago, Rhyno was nothing more than a jobber. The man that was one of THE top guys in ECW was nothing more than a low to mid carder in WWE. I find this very upsetting because rumors have been rampant that Randy Orton has been a total jerk when it comes to some of the divas. Again I can’t say this is true, but plenty has been reported about Randy’s nastiness. Let’s see, Randy supposedly slammed the back of the airplane seat that Amy was sitting in because she had a bad back and needed the extra room. Randy didn’t care for the special treatment she seemed to be getting and hit that seat hard to jolt her. That was one of the main reasons they say Amy quit. And then Randy topped himself, by defecating into Rochelle’s luggage. The reasoning for that was she wasn’t impressed with Randy when he talked to her, so he paid her back.
As I said please remember nothing here is proven these are just very strong rumors that are on the main sites a lot, and I do mean a lot. Now I haven’t seen any suspension for Orton, any release of Orton, could that be because he’s got an “in” and he’s basically safe? Yeah I definitely think that’s the case. And many of you emailed me what about Steve Austin? He was accused of spousal abuse against Debra his wife at the time? He was arrested, he had court dates and yet Steve is back with WWE. In fact he’s had problems with another girlfriend, and that was documented when she called the police on him. While Austin never served any time and pleaded no contest to the incident with Debra, all of this did make the news with the main stream media. But, WWE has forgotten and seems to have forgiven Steve. I want to know why Rhyno’s punishment was so final. My theory again just seems to fit. Rhyno came from ECW not OVW and therefore Rhyno was expendable. I am very sorry to see him go, yet, he has been miss-used as I said earlier. Maybe Rhyno can catch on with TNA, and help build that show up. I wish the MAN BEAST all the best.
I go from unhappy news to very very good news. Paul London’s knee “injury” was a work. At least that’s what is being reported. The rumor for the “injury” is that Fit Finlay thinks it makes for a good fan experience to witness someone getting injured. As I said this is a rumor, I have no idea if this really was the reason but the most important thing is, Paul London is not hurt, in fact I checked the house show results from last night, and Paul worked his match. I have a feeling that a healthy London will just make Smackdown more entertaining to watch.
Finally, the draft is rumored to happen next week. Raw and Smackdown will both be held at Madison Square Garden, and many think that’s when we will see a shake up with both rosters. As I have been saying I’m all for it if they move some top guys over from both shows. I want to see new feuds, and I really want Smackdown and Raw evenly matched with top stars, because that definitely hasn’t been the case in the past year. I read today that Randy Orton made a comment that once he heels from his shoulder surgery he will be going to Smackdown. I do think that’s a perfect place for him and I could see Shawn Michaels becoming a Smackdown member as well. I would think that if this draft happens next week, tomorrow night on Raw Eric Bischoff will make an announcement to hype things up.
So there you have it, and tomorrow Raw will be in Moline Illinois. Remember the WWE superstars are coming back from Australia. So I am thinking that we might not see a hell of a lot of wrestling tomorrow night. But I’m sure Raw will have plenty to keep us interested. I’ll be back on Tuesday with my thoughts on Raw.
