In 220 Columns, I have never done a “Triple H” bashing column.
Well now the time has come. But hear me out.
This is not going to be a 2000 word tirade on why I hate HHH. That would be to easy and unfair. I am going to instead give you a synopses on what steps HHH has taken to ensure the loathing of wrestling fans and fellow co-workers alike. Now over the years, the various HHH lackeys and defenders have made it a point to make several remarks and claims in defense of the so-called “Greatest Wrestler Alive Today”. Here are some of the various “points” and “claims” made by these disciples of deceit and the truth behind those statements that can only be spoken and written by yours truly…”The Innovator Of Unspoken Wrestling Topics”…….Billy Cullen.
“Triple H was punished and had to work hard for his push!”-Now, I suppose that being friends with Shawn Michaels and marrying the bosses daughter had NOTHING to do with the amazing upheaval of the man who in 1996 was losing “slop” matches to Henry Godwinn and “Dumpster” matches to Duke “The Dumpster” Droese. Triple H getting punished for the infamous “Curtain Call” was his own stupidity.
Shawn Michaels was untouchable and Hall & Nash were leaving for WCW so they had nothing to lose. Hunter on the other hand was working high school gyms and putting over T.L. Hopper and had the audacity to en cur the wrath of Vince McMahon.
Would anyone out there urinate in their bosses coffee pot (while he was watching) and expect a promotion? Now as far as his push goes, Triple H was given more T.V. time than any other wrestler in WWE HISTORY! Hunter even once wrestled 6 matches on Raw in one night!. He was (and still is) pushed in our faces more than Goldberg was in 1997. Have you ever heard a song on the radio that
you didn’t really care for, but they played it so much that it eventually grew on you? See Triple H’s career.
“Triple H” always puts the younger guys over!”- This has to be the greatest nonsense of all. Triple H (since his big rise to stardom) has put over younger stars such as Shelton Benjamin and Eugene. Does anyone believe that The WWE is ever going to try and market these guys for a World Title push? No. That is why HHH put them over. They can’t hurt his spot. The guys like RVD and Chris Jericho that have more talent and personality than HHH were amazingly never allowed legitimate wins over Hunter.
Coincidence?…I think not. The only other guys that Hunter has put over in the last 5 years are guys who are legends with secure spots in the history books and serve to be no threat to Hunter.
“Triple H doesn’t play politics…that’s just rumors!”-He’s helping Stephanie McMahon run the WWE while Vinnie Mac is on injured reserve. He’s even whining about dress codes for the wrestlers and the television commercials for Wrestlemania 21. HHH also sits in the production meetings and claims to have no input toward the writing of the shows. Anybody want buy some swampland in Florida or get a great deal on a bridge? His power in the locker room and with the heads of the WWE is renown and has been spoken about by dozens of active WWE wrestlers. Apparently Vince McMahon learned nothing from WCW about the inmates running the asylum. Well in this case HHH is the warden and the WWE locker room are the inmates who are all playing cards with Scott Peterson in “The Hole”.
Triple H’s backing by Ric Flair does nothing for his career. Instead, it makes longtime Ric Flair fans vomit at the sight of the 16 time world champion talking about how great another wrestler is. Ric Flair has no dignity left in my opinion. He
believes that Hunter is a “genius”? Hunter is a cut-throat. He has stepped on and held down his friends and fellow superstars. He married the bosses daughter because he didn’t have what it takes to make himself a legend. He then has the
audacity to try and make people buy into his propaganda and hype. It’s not happening here. Getting handed the World Title on Raw was a true testament to what HHH’s career is about.
Triple H is no doubt a work-a-holic and consummate professional in clutch situations. His ability to work a match with a severe quad injury is admirable, but I can’t base a few positive things about an individual knowing that 90% of what they accomplished was by back stabbing and politics.
Don King once said to Lloyd Price “I’m on top of the world baby!” to which Lloyd replied “But look what your standing on Don? and how many people did you step on to get there?”
Paul Levesque is standing on top of a mountain of broken dreams, broken trust and a delusional reality.
