The first RAW numbers will be coming in tomorrow, a bit late than usual. This is, of course, due to Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in the United States, as it’s a national holiday. I should have the first numbers for you tomorrow.
As many of you might have noticed, WWE kept Early Hebner off of RAW this past Monday night. The reasons were obvious – they wanted to avoid even more “You Screwed Bret” chants.
Another note from RAW that others caught – Snitsky did ask, on air, Kane what he thought of their match right after the chokeslam. Talk about bad editing.
TSN in Canada edited the chokeslam on Trish. They did so, in the repeat of the segment just minutes later.
To wrap up the RAW notes, Kane was said to be bleeding badly after the ending spot. Apparently, he got a cut from one of the tables they went through. Also, if you were wondering what the chant during the main event was, it was “Let’s Go Leafs.” That added to the now-infamous wave from the audience in Toronto was a good sign we were in Bizzaroland.
NWA: TNA announced their main event for the Against All Odds PPV in February. TNA Champion Jeff Jarrett will be taking on Kevin Nash. Unfortunately, this is not a joke.
WWE announced that the SmackDown taping following WrestleMania 21 will take place in San Diego, CA. RAW will take place in the Staples Center, the night after the big event.
In an interesting note, WWE advertised a RAW house show at the Civic Center in Springfield, MA, on Februrary 26th. Why is that interesting? Because they announced a main event of Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Batista. The world title was never mentioned.
The SmackDown superstars couldn’t make it to Colisée Pepsi in Québec City due to the scary 18-inch snowstorms from the Halifax region. The show was cancelled.
In what has to be a funny line following RAW last night, Paul Wight said in an interview with the Kitchener Record that WWE respects women, and although there’s a lot of “T&A” involved, they don’t do violence against women. I’ll send him a tape of RAW from last night, with a picture of Trish Stratus.
The Rob Van Dam DVD was set to be released today, but has been pushed back for a February 1st release. I guess it now makes sense why there’s been little promotion about it. RVD’s presence on the injured list doesn’t help.
http://www.tsn.ca/wrestling/ has uploaded a couple WWE videos on their website. One is an interview with Edge and Christian who talk about growing up in Canada, and their love for hockey. They also discuss the current lockout in the NHL. The other clip is of Jericho on TSN’s “The Hot Seat.”
That will do it for today. I should be back tommorrow with more news. Have a good one!
