Raw Report for August 15, 2005
by Richard Trionfo
It is the final edition or Raw before SummerSlam and it is also the end of the journey known as Diva Search II: Saline Away. We will find out who will follow in the footsteps of the first Diva Search winner, Christy Hemme. What will happen when Hulk Hogan faces Kurt Angle? Will Shawn Michaels return to Montreal? Will we see someone else involved with the Montreal Screwjob make a return to television tonight?
We are live from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and your announcers are Jim ‘Parlez Vous Barbecue’ Ross, Jonathan ‘Why do they speak funny’ Coachman, and Jerry ‘Roi’ Lawler.
We begin tonight’s show with Shawn Michaels walking to the ring. Shawn asks Montreal ‘Who’s Your Daddy’, and the crowd responds with ‘You Screwed Bret’. Shawn says that since the fans have been so respectful to him, he wants to return it to them in kind. Shawn sings O’ Canada, with his own lyrics. Shawn says that he is no singer, but he is the Showstopper, the headliner, the main event, the icon of the WWE. Shawn guarantees that at SummerSlam, he will give Hogan and the WWE fans something to remember. Shawn reminds the fans in Montreal that he is all about giving people memories. Shawn utters the magic words, ‘Survivor Series 1997’ when he handed Canada’s own, Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart his most miserable defeat. Shawn says that the crowd will not get Bret because he screwed Bret. He did it once and he would do it again. If Bret Hart had any guts and walked down the aisle tonight and step in the ring and look Shawn Michaels eye to eye, he would tell Bret, ‘I screwed you once, I will screw you again.’ Bret Hart’s music plays and nobody comes out. Shawn says that he got their hopes up a little bit. Shawn says that you will never see Bret Hart in a WWE ring again. Shawn says he did it to Bret Hart and at SummerSlam he is going to it to Hogan. Shawn says what the Montreal fans hate about Shawn Michaels is that he is everything that they wish to be. He comes out with his live microphone and does what he wants, when he wants it. Apparently, that is what Hogan does not like about Michaels also. At SummerSlam, Michaels wonders what the brother is going to do. Hogan’s music plays and Shawn laughs again. The first time, maybe he is cruel, but the second time, it shows the world that Montreal is everything that he ever said it was. He says the Canadians are not the sharpest in the drawer. Shawn says that it would be great for the crowd if Bret Hart or Hulk Hogan came to the ring to take care of Shawn, but there is nobody in the industry who can touch him; and their heroes are not even here yet because they are such big stars. Their limos don’t bring them to the show until it has already started. Shawn sits down in the ring while the crowd serenades him. Hogan stood for a moral fiber that did not exist in their real life. Yet they stood in judgment of Michaels. Shawn says that there is not a realistic bone in Hogan’s body. Hogan might be the biggest star in WWE, and Shawn wants Hogan to bring his ‘big star’ and wear his boa. Shawn wonders if the crowd has taught their children to speak the way they are while they are addressing Shawn. The crowd sits there and ‘talk it’, while Shawn Michaels ‘walks it’. Shawn says that Hogan is one move from having his star snuffed out. If Hogan has any doubts, just ask Bret Hart. We go to commercial.
