Raw Report for January 10, 2005
by Richard Trionfo
Last night, the WWE had their first pay per view of the year 2005 with New Year’s Revolution. On that show, we had two new champions as Trish Stratus won the Women’s Title, from Lita; and Triple H won the World Title, from himself (or ‘vacant’). What will happen when the WWE returns to the U.S. mainland?
We are live from Sunrise, Not Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and your announcers are Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler.
It is time to start things off by getting ready to spit your beverage of choice into the air as the ten time World Champion, Triple H comes to the ring, with his sixteen time lap dog Ric Flair following at a safe distance. Hunter has the mic and he is going to address the crowd. Hunter tells the crowd to let him have it. He tells people to make all the excuses. There is politics, favoritism. The fact is that the truth hurts, and the truth is that there is not a man alive on god’s green Earth who can do what he does in the ring as good as he does it. He does not care what show they are own, or what title they think they hold. There is nobody in the world that does what he does. There is nobody who can hold a candle to him. Hunter reads a sign that reads ‘Triple H is God.’ He says that he might just be. In ten tons of steel and 2 miles of chain, five of the greatest wrestlers in the business tried, but he is still the champion. Hunter brings up Benoit’s ‘lucky’ victory at Wrestlemania and people thought that it was the start of the decline. However, one best seller, a hit movie, and world title later, he is just hitting his stride. Flair takes the mic and says that ‘being the man’ and ‘staying the man’ are two different things and he is doing both. Hunter says that it is time for the fans to respect him. Hunter says that he does not care, and says that each and every one of the fans is useless. There is one person who is far from useless. That person is the ultimate team player. That person was dominant last night in the Elimination Chamber, by eliminating everyone named Chris in that match. That person is the most dominant person in the business today, Batista. Batista comes to the ring and hugs Hunter and Flair. From out of nowhere, Randy Orton’s music plays and he walks to the ring. Orton says that Hunter is only telling one side of the story. Hunter tells everyone it is the ‘Legend Killer’, or the buzz killer. Hunter calls Orton a loser. Randy says that he was eliminated after Batista helped Hunter after Batista was eliminated. Randy says that while Batista might have Hunter’s back, Hunter does not have Batista’s back. Orton says that he has footage, but Hunter doubts that there is any footage. Orton says that there is footage of Hunter being able to save Batista last night after the RKO. Hunter suggests that they leave, but Batista says that he wants to see the footage. Orton tells the guys in the back to roll the footage. After the footage is shown, Batista has a not so happy look on his face. Hunter says that it is Orton’s side of the story. Hunter says that the truth was that he was in the ring for 45 minutes. Hunter says that his knees buckled, and he would have made the save. Orton cut off Hunter to say that Batista hoisted Hunter on his shoulders after the match. Orton tells Batista that the ‘thumbs up’ will become a ‘thumbs down’ and he speaks from experience. Orton says that he will take care of things if Batista does not want to. Orton demands a rematch tonight. From out of nowhere, Eric ‘Burt Reynolds’ Bischoff comes out and says that Orton did beat Triple H last week. Based on Orton’s performance last night, he deserves a title match. Hunter objects and reminds Eric about the agreement about not wrestling Hunter while champ. Eric says that stipulation was lifted when Hunter lost the title. Eric thinks that Batista deserves a title shot, and Batista likes. Eric says that it will be resolved tonight in a number one contender’s match with Batista facing Orton. We go to commercial.
We are back with Shane McMahon in Japan announcing that Raw and Smackdown will be filmed in Japan in February. Shane was joined by Trish Stratus, Stacy Keibler, and Shawn Michaels.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: The Battle of the Body Slams between Lawler and Hassan with the WMDDT (thanks to Chris Catanese for the name)
It is time for our next match as Muhammad Hassan (with Khosrow Daivari) come to the ring. Hassan has a mic and he talks about his ‘historic’ victory over Jerry Lawler. He single handedly handed a blow to the biased American media, and every one of the sheep who support their racist agenda. Last night was a start, and the personal revolution continues tonight. He will show what he thinks about ‘truth, justice, and the American way’. Daivari starts to talk, but STAND BACK, there is a Hurricane coming to the ring (with Rosey). We go to the Evo-Locker Room where Batista is in deep thought. From out of nowhere, Hunter enters. Hunter says despite everything that has been said tonight, and what Orton has tried to put in his head, Hunter has Batista’s full support. Batista is a member of Evolution, and Hunter would be honored to be in the ring to defend his title against him. Batista asks Hunter if he means it, and then he says that eventually we all get what we deserve.

Edge gets ready for the SPEAR and he connects. Edge puts Rhyno in the El Paso Lasso and Rhyno taps. After the match, Edge gets on the mic and he has a few words. Edge says that the fans must think that he is happy that he has qualified for the Royal Rumble. He would be happier if he was not super kicked, and cost the World Title by Shawn Michaels. Edge calls out Shawn Michaels to settle things. He will not leave until Shawn brings his primadonna ass in the ring. We go to commercial.
We are back and Edge is still in the ring, and says that Shawn would not come out unless the cameras were rolling. He calls Shawn the most selfish man in wrestling. Edge talks about Taboo Tuesday when Shawn did not step aside when he could not win the title. Then there was the Battle Royal that he won. Then there was the Triple Threat match that he rightfully won. Then Shawn screwed him in the Elimination Chamber. From out of nowhere, Shawn Michaels comes to the ring. Shawn calls Edge bitter considering how much he talks about ‘being screwed’. Shawn tells Edge that his problem is that he complains about everything. He says that Edge thinks that everything should be given to him on a silver platter. Shawn says that he went down that road before. Shawn says that there are some Canadians in the crowd, but Edge says that he does not care about the fans. Shawn tells them to stop coming down to Florida, and stop interrupting his television time. Shawn says that you don’t want moderate success. Shawn tells Edge to stop worrying about the past and deal with the future. Take action. Don’t be satisfied with a spot in the Royal Rumble, win it like him. Earn that World Title at Wrestlemania. Edge says that he needs to look to the future, and maybe he needs to slap some sense into himself, but he has other ideas. Edge slaps Shawn Michaels and then they both fight in the ring before being separated. Michaels attacks Edge outside the ring and they fight into the crowd. We go to commercial.
We are back and Edge and Michaels are fighting outside the arena. They are back into the arena as the battle continues. They fight into the merchandise area.
It is time for Simon Dean to come to the ring. Simon says that Florida is known for a lot of great things. Warm weather, fabulous beaches, and a large population of fat people. Simon says that the beaches are full of people with physiques that resemble beached whales. Simon says that he is here to change that with his new product. He has Fat Burning Pills. Simon says that he does not have enough for everyone, but he has a set for someone over 300 pounds who used to wear a mask. From out of heckfire and charcoal briquettes, it is Kane. Kane enters the ring and takes the pills. Kane tries one of the pills and he does not like the taste. He calls it the worst tasting stuff he ever tried in his life. He tells Simon to try one. We go to the Evo-Locker Room where Hunter is sitting. Flair says that he is going to shoot from the hip. Flair says that they need to motivate Dave to be in their camp, and not side with Orton. Hunter says that Batista needs to be motivated. Hunter tells Batista that he needs to be told about his record against Orton, and how bad it is.
