I wish I was in sunny and warm San Juan, Puerto Rico like New Year Revolution is. But I’ll have to settle for the second best thing and watch it at home. I’ll raise the heat in the house since it’s so cold here, make a few Pina Colada’s and put my feet up and just soak in the atmosphere. While this show might not have the strongest card, I’m expecting the Elimination chamber match to help put this over as a decent pay per view. What makes this show really cool is all the email I have received with predictions. When it comes to the IC title match, the Tag Team Title match and the World title match no one really seems to be on the same page.
Shelton, Maven, Batista, Orton and Tomko/Christian are all getting votes. This show is far from predictable and that’s always a big plus for me. Okay so here’s my predictions and hold on to your hat, because they are all right. HA! Even I’m laughing with that statement.
Jerry The King Lawler w/JR. vs. Muhammad Hassan w/Daivari
At first I figured the King would win to even up the score from last week’s Raw. After conversing with my friend, Lee and really thinking about it, how weak would Hassan look if Lawler beat him? The more Daivari and Hassan take care of Lawler and I assume JR the more heal heat they will receive. I don’t think this will be an outstanding match, but if the crowd is anything like last week’s Raw crowd, then believe me this could be quite entertaining.
Winner: Hassan
Lita vs. Trish for the Women’s Title
There is no way Mrs. Kane is going to lose this match. She hasn’t held the title long enough. Here’s what I see. I see Trish really REALLY working her ass off and because of this Lita will come off looking pretty damn good in the ring. I would think that Snitzky might want to try to antagonize Lita but no matter what Lita will win.
Winner: Lita
Kane vs. Snitzky
There’s not too much to say about this match. Kane has been out for just about three months after being “brutalized” by Snitzky back in October at Taboo Tuesday. This should have been a street fight, because I believe with Kane looking for payback this match should be as violent as possible. I’m giving Kane the win for one reason only, how long has it been since he’s won a pay per view?
Winner: Kane
William Regal and Eugene vs. Tyson Tomko and Christian for the Tag Team Titles
Okay this is one of the matches that definitely could go either way. Let me tell you at first Regal and Eugene hit me immediately as the winners. Then last night I though nah, I think Tomko and Christian will win, but I’m back with Regal and Eugene. I am going with them because I feel that Christian and Tomko will win it at the Royal Rumble. Even though this feud really just happened I’m looking forward to it. I like Tomko with Christian and let’s face it with Regal and Eugene in there and especially Eugene there should be a good amount of humor to help make this enjoyable.
Winner: Regal and Eugene
Shelton Benjamin vs. Maven for the IC Title Match
Talk about difficult. It makes sense for me to have Shelton win, yet if Maven’s push continues it makes sense to me to have him win. Talk about not knowing. While I am a fan of Maven’s, I just don’t feel he is where he was over a year ago before he was injured and out for several months. I don’t feel Maven is right for this title yet. Of course I’m not Vince but I would definitely leave it on Shelton and let this feud continue. I would like to see Maven wrestle more and wrestle in longer matches. Shelton is the guy to watch tonight. He’s like magic in the ring. And hopefully this will turn out to be a good one.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
The Elimination Chamber – Randy Orton, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge, Batista and Triple H
Ah this could be the best chamber match ever. All six of these guys are so capable of making that come true. For the longest time I saw Hunter winning. But after last week it hit me that I could way off and Batista is the guy to get the title. I’m ruling out Jericho because Vince is too blind to realize that this man should be the World title holder. I’m ruling out Chris Benoit because I feel Vince gave him the honor in 2004 and for now that’s it. Edge isn’t ready and I would not be thrilled with him as the champion. Randy was ready months ago, but not anymore. He’s been kind of pushed back and I don’t even seeing him against Hunter at Wrestlemania anymore. That leaves Batista and Hunter. Yeah I’m a Triple mark and damn proud of it, but even I am sick of him being the champion. How cool it would be to give it to someone that’s never had it before, in fact never even had the chance to go for the title before? That would be Batista, and the creative team so far has been consistent in making him Hunter’s biggest threat. So this is like flipping a coin, I’m going to say Hunter wins and this is going to give Batista the win in the Royal Rumble. That’s when Batista will face Hunter at Wrestlemania, and then maybe he will win the title. Also with Shawn Michaels as the ref I wonder what role he’ll play. Is there a chance he could turn heel and help Hunter win? See this match has lots of possibilities. As I said I am looking forward to this match and I expect it to be the match of the night, not because of the weak card, but because of all the participants that are in it.
Winner: Triple H
With only six matches I would say we could see a few more added to the show. I will have my thoughts on tonight’s pay per view with my Raw thoughts on Tuesday. For those of you that will be watching enjoy it and for those you that didn’t order do what I do when I don’t order a show, keep checking the sites for results. I always find that fun and it makes me feel like I know what’s been happening.
