Raw Report for December 27, 2004

We have two more weeks before New Year’s Revolution determines the next World Heavyweight Champion in the Elimination Chamber. I guess we will see what other matches are going to be on that show.
Do you remember two weeks ago when Eric Bischoff returned to Raw with a decision to make about the World Title picture. Instead of announcing a champion, the title was made vacant until New Year’s Revolution when the Elimination Chamber returns.
We are live from Biloxi, Mississippi, and your announcers are Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Raw is back, and so is Eric Bischoff as he emerges under the TitanTron. Eric talks about the Elimination Chamber match and the rules. Eric suggests that the last man to leave their chamber has an advantage. Eric says that all six men will have a ‘Beat the Clock’ night, and the man who wins their match in the shortest time against the unknown opponent will be the last man released into the chamber. Eric introduces the guest time keeper, Christy Hemme. Anyone who loses will be replaced in the match the person who beats them. There will be a special guest referee in the Elimination Chamber match, but we will not find out who that is until later tonight.
It is time for our first match and it involves Chris Jericho. Chris’s opponent is Christian (with Tyson Tomko). Christian pushes Jericho and has some words for him. Jericho with a rollup followed by a back slide for a two count. Jericho with a drop toe hold and an Oklahoma Roll. Christian punches Jericho, but Jericho tackles Christian and tries for the Walls of Jericho, but Christian gets to the ropes. Christian tries for a sunset flip from the apron, but Jericho rolls through, but we have a series of reversals. Christian with an inside cradle on another Walls attempt. Christian with punches in the corner. Jericho responds with a chop. Jericho with a back body drop. Christian punches Jericho in the corner and then chokes him. Christian with a snap mare. Christian with an inverted back breaker. Christian with a punch to Jericho followed by a rear chin lock. Christian pulls Jericho down by the hair. Jericho chops Christian, but Christian sends Jericho over the top rope. Jericho lands on the apron, and he gives Christian a back body drop to the floor. Tomko checks on Christian and Jericho with a springboard cross body onto Tomko and Christian on the floor as we go to commercial.
We are back and Christian stands over Jericho in the ring. Jericho with punches to Christian, but Christian sends Jericho into the ropes. Christian tries for the Big Bossman Splash, but Jericho with a clothesline. Jericho with a flying clothesline. Christian with a catapult to Jericho, but Jericho lands on the second turnbuckle and hits a cross body. Jericho and Christian roll through. Jericho with a bulldog followed by a Lionsault, but he lands on his feet. Tomko punches Jericho, but Christian can only get a two count on a rollup. The ref is distracted by Tomko, but Jericho with a springboard drop kick to Tomko. Jericho with the Walls and Christian taps out at 10:47.
We go to Evolution’s Locker Room and Triple H is complaining about tonight. Flair tries to calm Hunter down. Batista is not concerned, and Hunter says that he isn’t concerned. Batista says that he does not care because he is confident. Hunter asks Batista when he has not been confident. Hunter bets Batista $100 that he will win in less time than Batista. Flair reminds them to get their eyes on the prize to get in the Elimination Chamber. Flair tells Batista that Hunter will win the Elimination Chamber match.
We go to the interview area where Maria asks Randy what his thoughts are about being in the Elimination Chamber at New Year’s Revolution. Orton says that it is brutal, but he is excited to get a chance to wrestle for the title. It has been three months since he had a chance to wrestle for the title. Orton says that he will be the World Champion at the pay per view. Orton does not care who his opponent is tonight. Orton walks to the ring for his match, and Christy has a new outfit for this match.
Randy Orton (with Golden Shower Version 2.0) comes to the ring and we go to commercial before we find out who his opponent is.
We are back and Orton’s opponent is Maven. Maven with a face wash on Orton in the corner. Maven with a go behind and side head lock. Maven with a shoulder block, but Orton with a standing drop kick. Orton goes up top, but Maven crotches him. Orton is on the apron and Maven with a drop kick to Orton. Maven sends Orton into the ring steps. Maven mocks the Randy Orton pose and then punches Orton. Maven with a standing drop kick. Maven with a rear chin lock with body scissors, but Orton gets back to his feet. Maven with a back elbow and another rear chin lock. Maven throws Orton outside the ring to the floor. Orton with a Side Russian Leg Sweep outside the ring. Orton pulls Maven back into the ring and hits a DDT while Maven rested on the second rope. Orton with a baseball slide to Maven and Maven hits the ringside barrier. Orton goes up top and hits the cross body, but Maven rolls through and grabs the tights. Orton sets up for the RKO, but Maven counters. Orton with an RKO and he gets the three count at 6:14. We go to commercial.
We are back with the WWE Rewind: Snitsky getting a message from Lita that Kane is coming back soon.
It is time for our next match and out comes the Women’s champion, Lita. Her opponent is Molly. Molly pushes Lita out of the corner and then slaps her and kicks the champ. Molly with a hair toss. Molly with kicks to the gut and a snap mare. Lita sends Molly into the corner and slaps her. Lita with a Monkey Flip Roll and punches Molly. Lita pulls Molly off the ropes and then with a stomp on the lower abdomen and head butt. Lita with a couple clotheslines. Lita runs into a back elbow. Lita with the Screaming DDT for the three count. After the match, Gene Snitsky comes into the ring and Lita runs into the crowd. Snitsky chases after her and they go into the back. They make their way to the back. They go through a few rooms and it looks like Gene has her cornered. From out of nowhere, Bischoff stops Snitsky. He tells Gene that he will face Kane at New Year’s Revolution. We go to commercial.
We are back and Rosey is in the ring. Do you remember when Rosey got involved in Simon Dean’s match with Hurricane two weeks ago on Heat? Neither did I, but at least we have footage. Rosey’s opponent is Simon Dean. Simon has a mic and he has something to say. Simon picks on the Mississippi crowd. Simon calls the crowd a bunch of disgusting hogs. Rosey pulls Simon into the ring and the match begins. Rosey with a short arm clothesline followed by punches. Rosey with a body slam. Simon tries for a sunset flip, but Rosey drops down on Simon’s face. Rosey misses a charge in the corner and Simon with a clip on Rosey. Simon runs Rosey’s leg into the ring post. Simon continues to work on Rosey’s leg. Rosey sends Simon into the ring post. Rosey with a back elbow followed by two clotheslines. Simon goes on the second turnbuckle, but Rosey catches Simon and slams him. Rosey tries for the Vader Splash, but Simon moves out of the way. Simon grabs the weight belt and puts it on. Simon tries to slam Rosey, but Simon goes down. Rosey grabs the weight belt, but the ref tells Rosey to put it down. Simon with a rollup for the three count. We go to commercial.
We are back and it is time for Edge to come to the ring for his match. Do you remember earlier tonight when Chris Jericho defeated Christian in 10:47? How about Randy Orton defeating Maven in 6:14? Edge’s opponent is Eugene. Edge pulls Eugene off the ropes and the match begins. Edge with a back slide followed by punches to the back. Eugene with a hip toss and a drop toe hold. Edge punches Eugene and chokes him in the ropes. Eugene moves out of the way and Edge with a dive through the ropes to the floor. Eugene with a shoulder block when Edge tries to get back into the ring, but Edge drops Eugene on the top rope. Edge with a snap mare and rear chin lock. Edge with a standing drop kick. Edge with a modified Camel Clutch, but Eugene with an Electric Chair Drop. Edge and Eugene run the ropes, but Eugene goes outside to be with the fans and hugs Christy. Edge shakes Eugene’s hand and then he chases after him outside the ring. Eugene slides under the ring. Edge gets back into the ring. Eugene with a kick. Eugene tries for a Rock Bottom and a Stunner, but Edge with a Spear that sends Eugene out of the ring. We hit the 6:14 mark, and Edge slams Eugene’s head into the ring steps. Eugene with a Stunner and both men are down. Eugene with a shoulder block in the corner and then he tries for a splash in the corner, but Edge moves and Eugene lands on his leg. Edge rams Eugene’s leg into the ring post. Edge puts Eugene in a Modified Cloverleaf and Eugene taps out.
We go to Bischoff’s office and Eric is on the phone. He talks about how Orton has the fastest time right now. We find out that person will be coming tonight, so it will make the announcement better. From out of nowhere, Coach enters and he has a present for Eric, a pair of sunglasses. Eric does not look happy. Eric wants to know what Coach wants from him. Coach wants to know who the special guest referee is. Eric says that he wants Coach to be as surprised as everyone else. Eric says that when the announcement will be made, not one person in the Elimination Chamber match will be happy. We go to commercial.
We are back and it is time for Christy to shake around the ringside area in a new outfit. It is time for Chris Benoit’s match as he comes to the ring. His opponent is Viscera. Viscera slaps Benoit and then he biels Benoit across the ring. Benoit with an arm bar followed by kicks to Viscera and he tries to clip Viscera. Viscera misses an elbow and Benoit with a baseball slide. Viscera with a shoulder block on Benoit. Benoit chops Viscera. Viscera with a jumping heel kick to Benoit followed by cross faces to Benoit. Viscera with a forearm to Benoit’s back and then he throws Benoit out of the ring. Viscera goes outside the ring and slaps Benoit. Benoit with chops to Viscera. Viscera with a Samoan Drop on Benoit. Viscera tries for another Samoan Drop, but Benoit counters and tries for a Crippler Crossface. Viscera will not go down and he hits a side slam on Benoit. Viscera with the World’s Slowest Splash in the corner. Benoit with a German Suplex and then he puts Viscera in the Crossface. Viscera taps at 5:43 after being in the Crossface for 47 seconds.
We see Stacy walking in the back as we go to commercial.
We are back with the Royal Rumble commercial.
It is time for Stacy to come to the ring. She hopes everyone had a great Christmas. Stacy thanks everyone for naming her the 2004 Babe of the Year. Her resolution is that she will bend over forwards and bend over backwards. From out of nowhere, Muhammad Hassan and Khosrow Daivari come out to the ring. Khosrow yells at Stacy and she leaves the ring. Hassan says that he is not surprised at the fans reaction. He calls this country a den of lies and a cesspool of hypocrisy. He says that America does not wish goodwill towards all men. He mentions a Cornell poll that says that more than half of the people surveyed think that Arabs should have their civil liberties limited. He vows to beat some sense into America as his New Year’s Resolution. Khosrow is at the announce position and he calls Lawler and Ross ‘good old boys’ who preach their propaganda. Lawler stands up and says that he has heard enough from them. Hassan pushes Lawler and then he pushes Ross to the floor. We see Hassan and Lawler stare each other down as we go to commercial.
We are back and Lawler says that he is fed up with dealing with Hassan and Daivari.
It is time for our next match and out comes Batista. His opponent is Rhyno. Batista throws Rhyno into the corner. Rhyno with a go behind, but Batista gets out with an elbow. Rhyno with a side head lock, but Batista with a shoulder block. Rhyno punches Batista, but Batista is angry. Rhyno with a GORE, but Batista kicks out. Rhyno punches Batista. Rhyno tries for another GORE, but Batista with a Spinebuster. Batista with the Sit Out Batista Bomb, and since he has time, he tries for one more. Batista with a second Sit Out Batista Bomb at 3:02.
We go to Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, and they talk about the Christmas in Iraq edition of Smackdown and the video package. We go to commercial.
We are back and we are reminded that Hunter has to beat 3:02.
We see Candace in Bischoff’s office and she talks about spending time with her family in LA. From out of nowhere, Coach tells Bischoff that the special guest referee is here. Bischoff wonders how Coach knows. From out of another nowhere, Hassan and Daivari have an objection about the propaganda from the announcers. They want a match against Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Bischoff says that they will have a debate next week.
Time to run down the New Year’s Revolution card as it stands and we have the following matches: Kane versus Gene Snitsky; Trish Stratus versus Lita; and the Elimination Chamber.
Hunter is yelling at Flair saying that Batista was not supposed to beat the clock. Batista comes in and he tells Hunter that Rhyno pissed him off. Hunter wonders why Batista has trouble following the plan. Hunter continues to yell at Batista, but Batista tells Hunter that Hunter is starting to piss him off. Flair reminds Batista and Hunter that Evolution is the most powerful thing to ever happen. We go to commercial.
We are back and the other men in the Elimination Chamber match are at ringside to watch Hunter’s match. It is Game Time as Triple H (with Batista, Ric Flair, and GameFountain) comes to the ring. Hunter steps onto the apron and stares down the other men in the Elimination Chamber match. His opponent is Shelton Benjamin. Hunter with a clothesline as the bell rings and then he kicks Benjamin in the corner. Hunter throws Benjamin out of the ring to the floor and then into the ring steps. Hunter rolls Benjamin back into the ring and then punches him in the head. Hunter with an Arn Anderson Spinebuster. Hunter with a sleeper, but Benjamin escapes, sending Hunter into the turnbuckle. Benjamin punches Hunter, but he runs into a Hunter boot. Hunter tries for a Pedigree, but Benjamin with a back body drop. Hunter with another sleeper and Benjamin’s arm is checked, but Benjamin gets his foot on the rope. The buzzer goes off and Hunter did not beat the clock. While Hunter argues with the ref, Benjamin with a Stinger Splash and a rollup for a two count. Benjamin with a kicks and punches to Hunter. Hunter blocks a Superkick, but Benjamin with the Dragon Whip. Benjamin off the second rope. Hunter tries for a Pedigree, but Benjamin counters with a back breaker. Benjamin with a slam on Hunter and Flair distracts the ref. Benjamin with the T-Bone , but the ref is distracted by Flair. Benjamin runs Flair into the turnbuckle. Hunter with a Pedigree for the three count. After the match, Evolution celebrates in the ring. From out of nowhere, Eric Bischoff introduces the guest referee for the Elimination Chamber . . . Shawn Michaels. While Shawn dances on the ramp, Hunter screams in anger.
