Smackdown for November 25th opened with a tribute to the troops overseas.
Diva Search loser Joy Giovanni was shown setting up food for “A Big Show Thanksgiving” later tonight. Torrie Wilson came to the ring to act as ring announcer for the opening match.
Rey Mysterio vs. Rene Dupree. As Rey came to the ring, they announced that Mysterio & Rob Van Dam would be getting a title match with Dupree & Kenzo Suzuki at Armageddon. It was mentioned that General Manager Theodore R. Long had banned the tag partners from ringside. Dupree was sporting a black eye (from the Holly incident), which Tazz said Dupree got from Fifi. Mysterio did a springboard armdrag early, but Dupree dropkicked him as he went for a springboard bodypress. Dupree stomped Mysterio, then delivered a delayed vertical suplex for a two count. Dupree went to the top rope, but took a long time, and missed a legdrop. Mysterio hit a dropkick and a bodyscissors into a bulldog for two. Mysterio went for the 619, but Dupree sidestepped it and sent Rey to the floor. Dupree went to ram Mysterio headfirst into the ringpost, but Rey floated over and shoved Dupree into the post. Back in the ring, Rey hit a springboard senton for two. Rey went for another headscissors, but Dupree slammed him facefirst to the mat. Dupree did his dance. Rey floated over a slam and gave Dupree a rana, putting him in 619 position. Rey hit the 619 and followed with a West Coast Pop for the pin. Winner: Rey Mysterio.
Backstage, Kenzo Suzuki was watching Torrie Wilson on a monitor. Hiroko came over and tried to explain Thanksgiving to him. When she asked if he wanted a wing or leg, Kenzo, staring at Torrie, said “Breast”. Hiroko realized what Kenzo was staring at, and walked off disgusted.
A review of last week’s Tough Enough segment was shown. Al Snow was shown bringing the final five Tough Enough contestants to the ring.
Tough Enough. Al Snow came to the ring with the final five contestants: Mike Mizanin, Daniel Puder, Justice Smith, Ryan Reeves, and Daniel Rodimer. Al Snow asked Ryan Reeves if he wanted to quit, due to suffering two broken ribs last week. Reeves refused to quit. Al Snow then revealed that Rodimer had been eliminated. Tazz disagreed with the elimination. Al Snow then revealed that this week’s challenge was an arm wrestling tournament.
The first match saw Mike Mizanin vs. Daniel Puder. Mizanin is left-handed, but was forced to use his right hand. Mizanin stalled a lot, while fans chanted “UFC” for Puder. Puder easily slammed him down.
The second match saw Ryan Reeves vs. Justice Smith. Reeves won, in a much longer contest (about 12 seconds).
The final match was Puder vs. Reeves. Snow asked Justice and Mizanin who they thought would win. Justice picked Puder, while Mizanin picked Reeves. Puder won in about six seconds. Winner: Daniel Puder.
Backstage, Booker T and Eddie Guerrero talked about their tag team match tonight. Both said they had unfinished business with JBL. Diva Search Loser (and now JBL image consultant) Amy Weber came in and tried to stir the pot between the two, reminding them that they are opponents at Armageddon. The two started arguing. Weber then reminded them that Undertaker was in the match as well.
Tazz and Michael Cole discussed the John Cena situation, with Cena out injured again due to the attack by Jesus following his U.S. Title win over Carlito Caribbean Cool last week. Carlito and Jesus were interviewed, with Carlito saying Cena was to blame for everything, since he “brutally attacked” him last week. Carlito said Cena got what he deserved. Carlito gave Jesus the lock and chain they stole from Cena as a reward for what he did. Jesus then cut a promo, saying he was a “thug”, just like Cena. Jesus said he just got his wrestler’s license, so he would be happy to meet Cena in the ring, if he can come back.
Rob Van Dam was getting ready for his match in the back. Rey Mysterio came over, and they discussed their tag title match at Armageddon, in Spanish and English.
Rob Van Dam vs. Kenzo Suzuki. Once again, the tag partners were banned from ringside. Kenzo hit some chops to start, but RVD came back with a spinkick that floored him. RVD hit a kick to the face, then went to the top rope, but Kenzo crotched him and stomped RVD on the mat. Suzuki hit some forearms in the corner, then hit a double chop. Kenzo hit a lariat for a two count. Kenzo hit a pair of slams, then delivered a kneedrop for two. Suzuki applied a chinlock, but RVD elbowed out, flipped over a backdrop and hit a double spinning leg lariat. RVD unleashed a flurry of kicks, then a springboard kick to the chest. Van Dam hit Rolling Thunder and went to the top rope, but Hiroko got in the ring to distract him, handing Kenzo her sash. RVD moved Hiroko out of his way, and Kenzo began choking RVD with the sash. The referee disqualified Kenzo. Winner: Rob Van Dam via disqualification.
Torrie Wilson, still playing ring announcer, got in the ring to announce the decision. Hiroko got in her face, and slapped her. Torrie and Hiroko started catfighting. Kenzo pulled Torrie off of Hiroko, and put her in a corner. Kenzo dusted off Torrie, acted like he wanted a kiss, and did the Rick Rude hip swivel. RVD attacked Suzuki and ran him off.
Joy Giovanni started bringing food to the ring for “The Big Show Thanksgiving”.
After a commercial, The Big Show Thanksgiving took place. Josh Mathews was the host. Big Show came out and cut a promo about how much he loves Thanksgiving. Show joked around with Tazz and Michael Cole, and told Tazz not to have an “ECW flashback” and suplex him through the pumpkin pie. A brief “ECW” chant broke up. Big Show made some jokes about eating a lot as a kid. Show invited Tazz, Cole, ring announcer Tony Chimmel and some of the assistants at ringside into the ring. As they were starting to dig into the food, Luther Reigns came out. Luther cut a promo about hating Thanksgiving, saying he spent every holiday fighting, on the run, or in prison. Luther said he gives thanks to himself for saving his own neck. Luther said he was inviting himself to the dinner, since Show was inviting everyone else. Luther demanded that Joy serve him a plate. Luther then took a pie and rammed it in Joy’s face. Show slammed Luther head first into the table, threw a piece of turkey at him, then kicked him out of the ring. Mark Jindrak came down to get an infuriated Luther into the back. Meanwhile, Tazz started a food fight. Big Show watched and laughed as everyone went nuts with the food, including Josh Mathews jumping on the back of Tony Chimmel. At the end, Joy pied Big Show in the face, and the two started laughing and eating the pie off of each other’s faces.
Kurt Angle came to the ring, accompanied by two police officers. Angle revealed that the two officers were there to protect his Olympic Gold Medal, which would go to whoever could beat Angle in his “Hometown Invitational Challenge”. Angle brought out Cody Steele of Rochester, New York. Angle told Steele this was his big chance tonight, and said that as a Thanksgiving gift, he would let Steele start off on top of him in an amateur wrestling position.
Kurt Angle vs. Cody Steele. Angle quickly flipped Cody over and paint brushed him with slaps, then kicked him as they got near the ropes. Angle broke off then Cody went down, however, instead of taking the top position, Angle kicked him right in the face. Angle hit an Angle Slam and applied the ankle lock for the tapout. Winner: Kurt Angle.
The remaining Tough Enough contestants came out and cut promos saying what they were thankful for. None of them were very impressive, although Mike Mizanin got in a shot at Daniel Puder, calling him a “brownnose”. Al Snow introduced them one last time, and Puder easily got the biggest ovation.
They recapped Heidenreich’s “breakdown” from last week. Josh Mathews interviewed Paul Heyman, who said that Heidenreich is now medicated and under “round the clock” supervision. Heyman said Heidenreich would not be able to have dinner with his family this Thanksgiving. Heyman said that Heidenreich is “sensitive and emotional” and has a lot of issues that he is going to get through, with professional help. Heyman asked for a moment of prayer for Heidenreich.
Miss Jackie and Michelle McCool were stretching in the back, with Michelle saying that there’s “some truth to every rumor” in reference to Dawn Marie’s claims that Charlie Haas was cheating on her. Miss Jackie didn’t believe it. Charlie entered, told Jackie she looked great, and asked if she was ready for her match. Jackie said she was, and Charlie reinforced that he would never cheat on her, then planted a big kiss on her.
Dawn Marie (dressed as an Indian) vs. Miss Jackie (dressed as a Pilgrim). They started to catfight, and after ten seconds the referee was shoved by both women, then they continued to catfight. The referee called for the bell. Result: Double disqualification. Charlie Haas and another referee came out and tried to keep them apart as they went to break.
Eddie Guerrero & Booker T vs. John Bradshaw Layfield & Orlando Jordan. JBL tossed his towel into Guerrero’s face at the start, but Eddie took him down with some armdrags and tagged in Booker. Orlando tagged in, but Booker gave him a hiptoss and sideslam. JBL hit Booker from the outside on whip, giving Orlando the advantage as he dropped an elbow on Booker and hit a slam. Jordan applied a chinlock, and hit a Thesz press. JBL tagged in and hit a back elbow, then stomped Booker and dropped three elbows in a row. Guerrero broke up the cover. Jordan tagged back in and went to the chinlock, but Booker hit a flapjack. JBL tagged in as Guerrero got the hot tag. Eddie took down JBL with a series of rights, then dropkicked Jordan off the apron and gave JBL a flying headscissors. Guerrero hit three consecutive vertical suplexes on JBL, then Jordan ran in and hit Guerrero with a knee. Booker gave Jordan a spinkick and a spinebuster. JBL powerbombed Guerrero and gave Booker a boot to the face. JBL went for the Clothesline From Hell, but Eddie ducked it and hit a kick to the gut. Booker gave JBL an ax kick. Jordan attacked Booker and they went to the floor. A “fan” in a Rey Mysterio mask knocked out Booker, then revealed himself to be Danny Basham. In the ring, Guerrero was going to the top rope when another “fan” (Doug Basham) jumped out of the crowd and knocked Guerrero off the ropes with a punch, allowing JBL to get the pin. Winners: John Bradshaw Layfield & Orlando Jordan.
JBL was celebrating, when the lights went out. When they came back on, The Undertaker was in the ring. Undertaker chokeslammed Jordan and tombstoned JBL. Taker stood over JBL, holding the WWE Championship belt, as the show ended.
