At first I wasn’t so sure that this Survivor Series would be worth watching. But Raw and Smackdown definitely have some nice matches on the card, and I’m thinking this show night be one of WWE’s better pay per views of the year. In fact there’s just one match out of the seven that means nothing to me and I’ll start with that one first. Again thank you all for sending me your predictions and I did notice that the majority went with Lita and Billy Kidman, in fact there were very few of my readers that didn’t pick these two to win, so I’m anxious to see just what happens with their matches.
Undertaker vs. John Heindenreich
Take is winning that’s a given, but since he’s hardly ever on Smackdown, and since we really haven’t seen Heindenreich wrestle, this match is by far the weakest match of the card. I expect it to be all brawling, and to be short. I have no interest in this because Taker’s absence has become very very distasteful to me; I just want this one to be done quickly. Although I shouldn’t totally bash this, because with Paul Heyman involved things could get pretty funny and kind of exciting.
Winner: Taker
Cruiserweight Championship – Spike vs. Chavo vs. Billy Kidman vs. Rey Mysterio
I have been going with Spike up until last night, but it’s obvious that the momentum with Spike and the title has definitely died down. Rey was just put in there to make room for John Cena on Eddie’s team so I rule a win out for him immediately. Billy Kidman and Chavo have this nice feud going on, although, again the creative team has kind of cooled things off with them as well. But one of these guys will leave with the title. And it’s not going to be Kidman. I can’t see Spike’s title going from one heel to another. Chavo will win and then hopefully more focus will be put on Chavo and Billy during the next several weeks. If Taker and Heindenreich have one of the poorest matches of the night, this one is going to definitely stand out as one of the top ones of the show.
Winner: Chavo Guerrero
Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns, Carlito Caribbean Cool and Mark Jindrak) vs. Team Guerrero (Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Big Show and Rob Van Dam)
Here’s a match that should be well worth watching. While Reigns and Jindrak might not have much to offer, and with CCC being hurt, Kurt, Eddie, RVD, John Cena and Big Show will make this a must see. This is a match where your top guys are going to work their asses off. I wish I could tell you in what order each will be eliminated but I’m not that good, seriously I really I haven’t even thought about that. But Eddie’s team will win, and it’s too bad some stipulation wasn’t made similar to the stip that was made on the Raw side.
Winner: Eddie, Cena, Show and RVD
WWE Championship – JBL vs. Booker T
When this feud began I really thought Book was winning at tonight’s show, but I don’t feel that way at all anymore. I’m now thinking that Booker T will win the title at Armageddon next month but tonight JBL will still leave as champion. I know at ppv’s JBL gives his all and with Booker in there I would think this match will come off pretty damn good.
Winner: JBL
Women’s Championship – Trish vs. Lita
It’s going to be very interesting watching Lita tonight. Since her return from neck surgery Lita isn’t what she used to be, and since she’s missed so many months in the ring with this baby angle I would like to think that she’s been working EXTRA hard in getting her timing back. I don’t see Lita winning not this time. I’m thinking a Snitzky run in will kill it for Lita. Also I read a few weeks ago that Trish has numbness in her hand which many are saying could be from a neck injury. I don’t know if that will affect her performance tonight but it’s something to keep any eye on. Yeah I definitely want to see this match and I’m hoping both women work very well together.
Winner: Trish
IC Championship – Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian
While I find Christian’s character stale, in the ring the guy is so worth watching. Shelton has been looking very good in the ring; he’s definitely WWE’s future. So I expect this match to come off very well. Yeah Christian has Tomko to in his corner, but for some reason he’s not going to be of any help. Shelton will remain the champion. I can’t wait to watch this one.
Winner: Shelton Benjamin
Team Orton (Randy Orton, Maven, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit) vs. Team Triple H (Hunter, Batista, Edge and Sniztky) – Winners Run Raw For A Month
I can’t see Orton’s team coming out on top here. The faces have basically gotten the best of Hunter for weeks. And with the tease that Snitzky and Edge are not team players and are after Triple H’s title it makes me feel that this is the team that is going to win. I have no idea what part if any Ric Flair will have, and a strong rumor is going around that Maven will turn on this team helping out Hunter. I could definitely live with a Maven heel turn but again who knows if that will take place. I don’t know if this will be the main event, if it is then yeah I could see a Maven turn, OR a Flair turn in which he would help Randy’s team win. Whatever happens this should be one cool match to watch.
See I told you this show sounds very entertaining. If you are ordering it enjoy, and I’ll have something in Tuesday’s column about my thoughts. Here’s hoping I have all positive things to say about this years Survivor Series.
