Jeff Jarrett vs. Ryan O?Reilly
Out comes NWA World Champion Jeff Jarrett. Ladders are set up all over the arena as a glimpse of what lies ahead at TNA?s first 3 hour PPV Victory Road where Jarrett will defend against Jeff Hardy in a ladder match. Jarrett took the fight to the outside where he used the ladders set up around the arena to his advantage. Jarrett then brought one of the ladders into the ring as well. Jarrett whipped O?Reilly into the ladder in the corner and then executed The Stroke for the victory in a quick match.
Winner: Jeff Jarrett
-After the match, Jarrett continued to beat on Ryan O?Reilly. Ryan?s uncle Bill was busy backstage on the phone and unable to come out to his nephew?s rescue (OK, Not really). Hardy came out for the save. Hardy got up on top of the ladder in the ring to the delight of the crowd but Jarrett escaped.
-Promo airs of Scott Hall. He?s got blonde hair. Hall addresses Kevin Nash and how the two are perceived to be on opposite sides of who they support in the World Title match at Victory Road.
–COMMERCIAL BREAK–
-Dusty Rhodes promo piece airs. Talking about how you should vote for him to be TNA Director of Authority.
Chris Sabin & Sonjay Dutt vs. Michael Shane & Kazarian
Lots of faced paced action in this one. Everything you would expect from 4 X Division wrestlers. Kazarian and Dutt had some really good chemistry and did a lot of great spots. Sabin at one point executed a nice looking duel drop kick. They cut away to show Harris and Storm backstage arguing.
–COMMERCIAL BREAK–
Back from the commercial break, Triple X has been tossed out of the building backstage by security. Kazarian executed a slingshot in the ropes catapulting Sabin?s neck across the ropes. Sabin executed a release overhead german suplex from the top rope on to Kazarian. Amazing move. Things got crazy at the end, but the time limit expired and the decision goes to the judges. Judge Larry Zbysko rules that Sonjay Dutt and Chris Sabin win the match. Great match.
Winners: Sonjay Dutt & Chris Sabin
-Backstage, Shane Douglas interviews Dusty Rhodes about the campaign to determine who will win the election for control of TNA as Director of Authority. Dusty Rhodes called Victory Road the biggest PPV in the history of PPVs. That was funny. Jarrett comes in and interrupts Rhodes. Talks about how Jeff Hardy is Dusty?s ?boy? and how he?s going to delivery a message personally to him.
–COMMERCIAL BREAK–
-Tales From The Pit. Piper talks about his memories of Jimmy Snuka and how Snuka had ?wolve?s eyes.? Yes, he talked about the famous coconut incident from Piper?s Pit.
Monty Brown vs. Eric Stevens
Short squash match completely dominated by Brown. Monty Brown executed The Pounce twice on Stevens before getting the win. The second time, Stevens could barely stand.
Winner: Monty Brown
-After the match Brown cuts a quick promo on Raven for Victory Road. The lights go out. When the lights come back on, Raven is in the ring working over Brown. Brown, however, gains the advantage back and executes the Pounce. The lights went out again. The lights come back on with Abyss holding Brown on his shoulders in the torture rack. Brown gains the advantage fighting out of it. Raven gets back up and helps Abyss gain the advantage yet again before security breaks things up.
–COMMERCIAL BREAK–
El Fuego & Scott Papper vs. The NYC w/ Trinity
The crowd chanted ?Let?s Go Red Sox? at the NYC. Decent match dominated for the most part by the NYC. No great spots that stand out. Pretty standard. Trinity gets involved in the match near the end on the outside. NYC gets the win.
Winners: The NYC
-After the match, Triple X and AMW are back brawling. This time out by the ring. Triple X was apparently tossed out of the building but they are back. Security splits them up yet again. –COMMERCIAL BREAK–
-Vince Russo for TNA Director of Authority promo piece airs.
Team Canada w/ Scott D?Amore vs. AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy & Ron Killings
Styles, Hardy, and Killings cleaned house at the beginning sending all 3 members of Team Canada to the outside before the commercial break.
–COMMERCIAL BREAK–
After the commercial break Team Canada had gained the advantage. The turning point was a full nelson slam from Roode on AJ Styles. Hardy executed a nice twisting moonsault off the top rope. Styles and Killings each executed a cross body on to the outside simultaneously. Hardy executed the twist of fate back in the ring for the pinfall. Decent match but not as good as Shane & Kazarian vs. Sabin & Dutt earlier.
Winners: AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy & Ron Killings
-D?Amore ambushed Hardy after the match with the Canadian flag. Petey Williams and Styles fought in the crowd while Hardy and Killings were both getting worked over in the ring by the rest of Team Canada. BG James and Konnan came out for the save. Hardy executed the Swanton Bomb on Scott D?Amore from the top of the ladder that had been brought in the ring. As Hardy was celebrating, Jarrett came out of nowhere with a guitar and smashed it over Hardy?s head to end the show.
