Goldberg was backstage at the Smackdown tapings in San Diego last week. He lives in the area and stopped by to visit friends on the Smackdown crew, particularly Ernest “The Cat” Miller.
Rikishi and Scotty Too Hotty are upset because they believe The Cat has basically taken their spot on the television shows. Evidently, they have been told that there is only room for one dancing act on Smackdown!.
The rumor coming from upper management at last week’s TNA tapings was that a television deal with WGN was imminent and may already be signed. Sources say the show could start airing as early as next month.
The word backstage is that Rock Star Games, the makers of the popular “Grand Theft Auto” series of video games, is the leading candidate to produce the TNA games. Talent has been told that they will need to sign releases before the deal can be finalized. The word in some circles is that Rock Star Games has offered a huge budget for the game, with several million dollars directed at advertising the game.
Matt Hardy is not in the dog house. Although his lack of push might indicate so. Instead, it’s just a case of the Raw writing crew not having put any effort into generating a storyline for him.
