John Cena vs. Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio’s music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring for a one on one match against John Cena in a match being billed “for the first time ever!” Before the match, John Cena worked the mic and the fans seemed to be well behind Cena as they chanted “Cena, Cena!” at the start of the match.
The start:
John Cena got on his knees to mock Mysterio and Mysterio hit Cena and then the two locked it up and Cena knocked Mysterio back.
Mid-match notes:
Mysterio went to the top rope but Cena grabbed him and gave him a delayed vertical suplex. Cena then pinned Mysterio for a two count.
Cena charged at Mysterio and Mysterio knocked him into the ropes and then he gave him the 619 and Cena bounced back and hit the referee to bounce him back. Rey then went for the West Coast Pop but Cena hit Rey with a low blow as he came off the top rope and this went undetected by the referee.
The finish:
John Cena then planted Rey Mysterio with the FU and then pinned him for the three count to get the win with the crowd behind him, even though they weren’t against Mysterio.
Winner – John Cena
The Aftermath:
As Cena celebrated in the ring, some music started playing and Paul Heyman led out Team Lesnar. Paul complimented Cena on his victory. The fans chanted “Cena, Cena!” and Paul agreed with the fans because what John Cena wants, he takes like he took that victory from Rey Mysterio. But tonight, John doesn’t have to take anything anymore because Paul is going to give him something. It’s not the United States Championship, he has to earn that like The Big Show, it’s not the WWE Title, you have to earn that like Brock Lesnar. But John did earn something and that is the privilege Paul is about to bestow on him and that is the very first step in a glorious career for Cena because with Brock’s blessing, Heyman declares John Cena the fifth and final member of Team Lesnar at Survivor Series! Cena took the mic and told Heyman to chill. He’s telling Cena that he’s number five for Team Lesnar at Survivor Series? Cena told Paul that he has a problem with that. You see, nobody tells John Cena what to do. And besides, look at his team, he’s not going to fit on Team Sasquach. As Cena was talking, A-Train hit the ring and ambushed Cena from behind and then the rest of Team Lesnar hit the ring and Nathan Jones and Matt Morgan nailed Cena with two huge boots. The Big Show then grabbed John Cena by the throat and planted him with a choke slam in the center of the ring as Paul Heyman remained on the outside of the ring with a huge smile on his face. Brock Lesnar got in the ring with a steel chair and he nailed John Cena right in the head with it and left him for dead.
Backstage:
A-Train was shown backstage and Team Lesnar confronted him. A-Train told them that he didn’t mean to ruin their plans out there but he had a score to settle with Cena. Paul Heyman said that he likes that initiative. He’s all about ambition and what A-Train wanted, he took from John Cena, which is why with Brock Lesnar’s blessing, Paul is here to offer him the fifth and final slot on Team Lesnar for Survivor Series. A-Train agreed and shook hands with his new teammates.
Backstage:
Eddie and Chavo were shown backstage and Chavo told Eddie that he probably doesn’t need to say this, but he knows how important the handicap match against the Bashams is. Eddie said that he does and Chavo explained that he’s going to have to go out there and beat both Bashams. Eddie said it’s OK because he’s got Chavo in his corner. Chavo informed Eddie that Heyman has banned him from ringside and he’s going to have to do this alone. Chavo told Eddie that he has to do this for their family, their fans and everyone including himself. Chavo ended by saying that tonight, he needs to do this for Chavo. Eddie said that this is a tag team and Chavo asked Eddie who is the one that lost the titles and got pinned out there? Eddie admitted that he got pinned and Chavo asked Eddie who was there when he was going through all his problems and trying to sober himself? Eddie said that Chavo was there. Everyone else turned their back on him, but Chavo remained by his side. Chavo did it because he loves Eddie, so tonight, he has to go out there and he has to win this match tonight so they can get a shot at their tag team titles again. Eddie needs to make this right and he needs to do that for Chavo. Eddie left, saying that he’ll make it right.

Earlier this week:
They had the chance to sit down with the Undertaker earlier this week and he said that this goes way beyond the WWE Title… this is also very personal. On Survivor Series night, he will have worked for this company for 13 years and in those 13 years, Vince McMahon has screwed with the Undertaker professionally and personally. Vince McMahon does not respect the Undertaker. He doesn’t respect anybody other than himself. When Taker walks into that arena in Dallas, Texas, when he walks into that locker room, those guys in there show him the respect because in turn, he shows them respect. Whether he wrestles against them, fights them or whatever; they have a mutual respect. They’re gladiators and they go out there and lay it on the line. Vince McMahon on the other hand, he respects no one. And for all the people through all the years that Vince has disrespected, he’s going to have to atone for. Bret Hart, Steve Austin, the list is endless. And the Undertaker thinks Vince respects his family even less than he does them. Vince is a man who disrespects his wife by flaunting his affairs for the world to see with no remorse. This is a man who shoves his wife down in front of the world. Here is a man who takes his only daughter, puts her in a match against himself and knocks her around and ends up choking her until Linda had to throw in a towel to save her own daughter. And this is all pretty much normal activity to Vince McMahon. Taker is a firm believer and he thinks with his heart with all that he is. He thinks that in every man’s life, there comes a time when you have to be held accountable for your actions, everyone, even if your name is Vince McMahon.

In ring promo:
Vince McMahon’s music hit in the arena and he made his way out to the ring. Vince took the mic and he asked the fans not to be afraid of him. He comes before us tonight to not be afraid of what he’s about to do or say. He also asks the fans not to snicker, nor be scornful of his genuine sincerity. We all know that this Buried Alive Match at Survivor Series hangs over his head like a sword. He also came here to ask everyone for their understanding and forgiveness. And as such, he’d like to have every head bow and every eye closed in this arena no matter where you are all over the world because Vince McMahon offers his personal invocation. Vince got down on one knee and the lights went out and a spotlight lit up on him. Vince asked for his soul to be cleansed, his heart to be purged and the ability to pierce the veil of righteousness. Vince spoke about following the light to the ultimate victory and that’s why he asks for our understanding and forgiveness and he asks not for their forgiveness for what he’s done in the past. He only asks for forgiveness for what he’s about to do. For you see, he’s been chosen by a higher authority, a greater power. He’s been chosen to take this glorious quest and he’s been chosen to take the final ride and vanquish his foes. He’s been chosen to slaughter the infidel. Yes, by God, he’s been chosen to bury the Undertaker alive. A-men and a-men (evil voice).
