They now have D-Generation X’s “Suck It” T-Shirt, The Rock’s Layeth The Smacketh Down, Stone Cold’s 3:16 T-Shirt, and Shawn Michaels’s Heartbreak Kid T-Shirt. Some are already on the Top 10, so it looks like a wise move to do since that was definitely a very popular time in the company’s history.
When WWE returns to Atlanta, GA on 10/28 for their Smackdown taping, they will be running in the 13,000 seat Gwinnett Center instead of the much larger Phillips Arena, where they ran last time they were there. Phillips holds about 8,000 more people and costs more to rent, so with business soft for the company, they are running the smaller venue. … Thanks to Gary Pirkle for his help with this story.
As a matter of clarification, John Cena’s “John Ritter” comment from Smackdown this week was edited off of the national broadcast by UPN.
A few readers sent word that Conan O’Brien announced on his show last night that the Rock would appear next week on the broadcast.
Brock Lesnar taped an appearance on “Peco Energy Spotlight” for Philadelphia’s Comcast Sportsnet yesterday. It will air on Monday 9/23 at 4:30 p.m. for those that get the channel on their cable.
Matt Pfaendler sent this one. … I noticed there wasn’t anything on the Booker T autograph signing on the site so I thought I’d send you a report. I got there around 5:50 with my two friends for the Booker T autograph signing at Field of Screams near York, PA. Booker showed up around 6 as scheduled. He was very nice to everyone and signed at least one item for those that paid to do the Field of Screams and such. I’d say around 100-200 people were there. We finally got to him and I asked him about his back, which he said is feeling a lot better. My friend showed him a picture that we took back when he was wrestling in Hershey and he stated “I look really happy there.” He hopes to have gold around his waist but “doesn’t care whether it’s main event or IC.” They kept pushing his return date of October 3rd (?) on Raw. Overall he was extremely responsive and it was an awesome event.
WWE’s Smackdown brand returns to action at Madison Square Garden tonight while the Raw brand has the Unforgive PPV tomorrow.
