What’s up wrestling fans? I must first apologize for not having an editorial up last week. I had family over from Arizona, and then I had to do the W-W Audio Show on The Zone Radio. Below I have my predictions for this Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam, so without further ado I shall begin the rant known as The Elite View.
Undertaker vs. A-Train
I really don’t care much about this match, but it’s happening anyway. I’m finally starting to warm up to A-Train, but I think the “Dead Man” will have the number of one A-Train.
Predicted Winner: The Undertaker
Rhyno vs. Chris Benoit vs. Tajiri vs. Eddie Guerrero
This match is going to be extraordinary, and I can’t wait for this Sunday just so I can see it. The four most talented men on the Smackdown roster will collide in one match. I bank my money on the man with the biggest advantage, the champion, Eddie Guerrero.
Predicted Winner: Eddie Guerrero
Matt Hardy vs. Zach Gowen
If it’s done right, this match can be a great one. I would love to see Gowen get his first singles win on TV, and I think it could be the start of the much anticipated Matt Hardy babyface turn. I also see this match as a possible type of match to distinguish Gowen of being a legit superstar.
Predicted Winner: Zach Gowen
La Resistance vs. The Dudleyz
This feud has slowly elevated the tag team division in my eyes on the RAW brand. I’m loving this, and I hope they run another month of this up to Unforgiven. At SummerSlam I’d give it to La Resistance, then at Unforgiven give it to the Dudleyz and let them run with a feud with another heel team.
Predicted Winners: La Resistance
Rob Van Dam vs. Kane
Superb buildup to this match, I can’t wait for it, and I truly don’t know who will win. The WWE has built it up as a wonder to who would win, because RVD has tried getting revenge twice, and this will be his third and possible charm. Then again the monster could destroy the man as previously seen.
Predicted Winner: Kane
Shane McMahon vs. Eric Bischoff
A lot of people will say this match shouldn’t be on the card, and there’s a select few who will say it does. I’m in the few who say it does. This has buildup, it all started with the planting of seeds by Austin turning Kane into the monster, all the way up to Kane tombstoning Linda. Bischoff then attempts to rape Linda McMahon is another log on the fire. This feud isn’t over by a long shot, but to me I see it as a setup for Shane vs. Austin later down the road.
Predicted Winner: Shane McMahon
Kurt Angle vs. Brock Lesnar
I’m going out on a limb by saying this, especially with the fatal fourway match on the card, but Angle/Lesnar II will be the match of the night. These guys are both at 100% at the moment, and they’ll do anything to be the man at the top of the mountain. Kurt Angle picks up his win over Brock, only to lead to a gimmick match at Survivor Series or No Mercy to put it all away once and for all.
Predicted Winner: Kurt Angle
HBK vs. HHH vs. Nash vs. Y2J vs. Orton vs. Goldberg
The only thing I have beef with this match is that Randy Orton is in it, and Mark Zito isn’t. Mark Zito is the most underrated piece of talent on the internet today, he should defeat Goldberg. Nonetheless I think Jericho is the only man worthy of becoming World Champion at this time, and I’d love to see him pick up the win to face HBK next month for the title in an Iron Man match.
Predicted Winner: Chris Jericho
Well that’s basically it for this week wrestling fans. Next week I will be back with a special edition editorial where I count down (in my opinion) the Top 5 greatest superstars of all time who never became World Champion. Until next week, my name is Wade Needham and I’ve got two words for ya: BE COOL!
