CZW began their “Summer, Bloody, Summer” with the “Extreme 8” show this afternoon in Dover, DE Results
Corporal Robinson over Deranged (Independent Wrestling Revolution/XICW)
Corporal Robinson wins with a sick-looking Russian legsweep off the apron through a barbed wire board. Deranged at the start of the match gets a drop toe-hold face first through a barbed wire board. Corporal Robinson is later suplexed through the other board. A lot of out-of-ring brawling on the outside with suplexes on the concrete.
Necro Butcher over Bishop Slade (AIWF/HOPWF), Van Hughes (CWF/Pittsburgh), Axl Rotten, and Nate Webb.
Some of the sicker moments included Slade being eliminated by two stiff chair shots to the face. assorted fun with light tubes, Butcher nailing Rotten with a drop-toe-hold onto a barbed wire chair, Axl cutting Necro Butcher with scissors, then cut Butcher’s tongue with a piece of glass.
Zandig offered Necro Butcher a spot in CZW which Necro accepted.
JC Bailey over Toby Klein when Bailey stapled the 13th dollar onto Klein’s head and then hitting him with a top rope rana. The two beat the hell out of each other with some stiff shots. At various points, dollars were stapled to tongues, nipples, hair, face and other body parts too unpleasant to think about. Bailey was also knocked off the top rope through a Star of David made of light tubes on the pavement.
Ian Rotten over Low Life Louie Ramos
Ian did a promo reminding people that he entered Louie into IWA-Mid South’s KOTDM Tournament “out of the goodness of his heart”. He then told Ramos that since he was so gracious, he’d give him the night off. Ramos responded by cracking Ian in the head with a thumbtack bat. From then on, Rotten used Ramos for a punching bag,
It went beyond the match when Ramos insisted on blocking chair shots, which legit pissed off Rotten. Rotten also seemed to especially be laying in his head butts after the blocked chair shots. Rotten finally won with a Double Arm DDT, then got on the CZW fans in the audience from the ring mike.
Zandig and Nick Gage over Messiah and Nate Hatred.
Messiah and Hatred brought light tubes with them to the ring… Gage/Zandig won after a Nick Gage frogsplash. Late in the middle of the match, the IWA contingent ran in and attacked Zandig, Necro comes out to make the save, but turns on Zandig and again sided with IWA Mid-South.
The 300 plus crowd certainly had its fill of blood, gore, and socially unacceptable violence…and decent weather to enjoy it, all too rare in the Northeast this spring and summer.
But one thing that didn’t please some fans was the usual late CZW start (45 minutes past the advertised 4:00 pm start). Even with a show that was kept reasonable in length, the late start kept some fans from being able to go to the Ring of Honor show in Philadelphia… a show already pushed back a half hour by ROH management to 7:45-8:00 pm in order to try to accomodate some fans who might try to do a doubleshot. Those fans wouldn’t have been able to get to Philadelphia until 9:15 pm.
