Another month has come and gone in the world of wrestling. Let’s hope that this one will be as exciting!
If you haven’t heard by now, Paul Roma’s WWF contract has been pulled as he was arrested for assault the other day.
More on the Madden situation says that the WCW may try to keep a hold on him as he knows too much about the inside workings of the WCW.
It seems that the Ultimate Warrior will be returning on July 6th. This event will take place at a WCW show at the Georgia Dome. The place will be packed!
Hey, now that I am not doing any newsboard work, I have had the time to update the Wrestling Universe’s Interviews area where I added the Undertaker Chat, the Joey Styles Chat, and the Paul Heyman Chat. I encourage everyone to go check them out as they all touch on the big subjects in wrestling today including the Ric Flair situation and the Public Enemy’s status with the ECW. The links to the Wrestling Universe is in the links section.
Where are the Godwinns?
Steve Regal’s WCW contract expired this past week and the WWF reportedly challenged the WCW’s 120 day no compete clause. It has been reported elsewhere that the WCW backed down and are allowing Regal to work for the WWF and doing away with the no compete clause. This would be big for the WWF if they could use Regal. Remember, the WWF has him on their getting in shape program, so don’t expect him to be in the scene just yet.
Hey, the Hart Foundation gets screwed again…kinda…
It seems that The British Bulldog is very upset with the WCW over the fact that he has gotten nothing from them. They gave him a go-nowhere feud with Mongo and it basically did him in. He has been missing dates and is not in the limelight like his brother-in-law, Bret. From this situation, it has been said that McMahon was smart in letting Davey go in the fact that he was getting older and not doing as well in the ring. I have always liked the British Bulldog, even from way back in the tag team days, and I think that the best thing that he can do right now is try to get a piece of that Television Title (held by Chris Benoit!) and retire a champion. It is really a tough situation, too bad.
“Dr. Death” Steve Williams will be signing a contract with the WWF shortly. He recently wrestled for them at a show.
Just a thought. Wouldn’t it be better if Ric Flair said to hell with the WCW and went on to pay whatever the hell they want? Yes, he has a wife and kids, but everyone knows that McMahon would be willing to give him a type of Bret Hart deal that would give him all of that money back. Even if Flair doesn’t want to wrestle anymore, the WWF would offer him a front office job or a commentating deal or a managerial role…they would pay him nicely for his work. I guess that it’s a matter of pride.
Where is Gorilla Monsoon?
Hey folks, it seems that the mailing list that I use for the newsletter is down for a few days. I would look for another issue coming soon. I did send out a newsletter #11, but I think that it didn’t get sent out.
There are rumors that the WWF will be feuding Taka Michinoku will be feuding with X-Pac in the coming weeks. Finally! A storyline for that belt!
That’s it! Bye!!!
