I’m here with your early morning report. Definitely look for some type of update this afternoon as well.
I’d like to start off with a report that I received from a reader…
“I live in Daytona Beach, Florida and read your columns on the WICN Newsboard whenever you post one. On Wednesday April 29, 1998 a local radio call-in show had “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Brian Knobs on to promote a local charity event at the Broward County Community College to benefit the Titusville High School Athletic Department. Appearing on the card are: Brian Knobs, Jim Duggan, The Bushwackers, Steve Kiern as Doink, “The Genius” Lanny Poffo, Angelo Poffo, George “The Animal” Steele, Greg Valentine, Sensational Sherri, and someone named “Mad Dog” Brett Sawyer. During the promotional interview both were “out of character” and had some interesting comments that I would like to pass on to you and any other Internet fans via the WICN Newsboard, so please post this on the newsboard. Knobs continuously praised Hulk Hogan, going as far as to call him the “Elvis of Wrestling”. I have read several times that he will be the next nWo member, but he said he was currently in negotiations with both WWF & WCW, and also mentioned he would like to strangle Eric Bischoff! He mentioned a fight he got into with Ric Flair at the Chyna Club in New York, and a fight he got into with Roddy Piper at a Marriott Hotel. He also mentioned a lot about Jerry Saggs. Saggs was injured at a house show when Scott Hall hit him over the back of the neck with a chair. The shot broke 3 of Saggs’ vertebrae. After the shot with the chair, Saggs attacked Hall and punched him several times. This was definitely a shoot, because Hall had a few teeth knocked out. Saggs has been in rehab for the past year and still has no feeling in his left arm. He had a cyst removed from his neck and is currently weighing the option of having his neck fused, which would end his career. Knobs also said the the Road Warriors and the Steiner Brothers have lost their tempers frequently in their matches with the Nasty Boys. Duggan was not as talkative because he is under contract with WCW. He did mention that he had legitimate heat with Arn Anderson, DDP, And Flair. He said he did not get along with any of them. He also mentioned the many times he and Matt Borne got into backstage brawls. Duggan also praised Hogan. The show has pro wrestlers on alot, others have included DDP, Dick Slater, and Kevin Sullivan. All three said Flair is a pain in the ass backstage. Both wrestlers also said Flair should be given some leniency by WCW. Flair went to see is son compete in the AAU National Wrestling Championships, which is why he missed the Thunder a few weeks back. Both have had problems with Flair, but from a professional standpoint, they said WCW should give him leniency and allow him to compete again. Knobs then went on to say Flair wrestled hurt and always gave 110% and WCW is stupid for filing a suit against him. This was the 2nd time he said something negative about Bischoff and WCW, which makes me think he will not be going to WCW. Thanks for posting this! – RJT4000@aol.com”
Sounds interesting, huh?
Well folks, I have been taken off the WICN newsboard. Oh well, sh*t happens.
Hey, Mark Madden lost hs job as well. I guess that it’s because he always gave out false information and for all of the talking behind the back that he did. I’m not going to say that this is a shame, because he has said some pretty nasty things to people who don’t deserve it.
In what I think is a bad move, Shawn Michaels is not going to have surgery. I mean come on! Did you all see the pain in the man’s face at Wrestlemania? He needs surgery. Look for an HBK return around SummerSlam sometime.
And finally for this morning, Dr. Death Steve Williams is in the WWF. Looks like we may actually get to see that fabled Steve Williams versus Steve Williams (Stone Cold) match after all!
See y’all this afternoon! Bye!!!
