Well, the WWF has smartened up a bit. They had originally planned to reintroduce Shawn Michaels sometime in the early fall or late summer, but they realize that they are on the verge of having their own NEW “new generation” of athletes vault themselves into the number one spot in the ratings war and that Michaels giving an interview could be imperative to their success. A source told me that he spoke with Jim Ross a few days ago and that Ross was happy that the new superstars and gimmicks in the WWF (Goldust, “Boxer” Mero, HHH, Austin) were on the verge of breaking the ratings war in half. I think that this is only good for wrestling as a whole. As now the WCW will have to show us those mega main event matches that we drool for when we want to see them. A great big “Oh Hell Yeah!” for the ratings war, right now!
Also on the rating’s war, there are heavy rumors that the WWF is looking to bring in anyone it can to boost the low spots in its broadcast. They want the next RAW to be jam packed with action and events that will ripple the wrestling world. I have heard that they are petitioning Sid to make an appearance for a one-time showing. Along with this, McMahon (who is eager to get on top of those ratings) has decided to use more of the “Hart Money” to buy the bigger names that would propel the WWF into the first spot. Names like Sid and Paul Ellering are rumored to have been offered money for their appearance in the upcoming weeks. As far as I know, don’t look for Ellering, but Sid is almost a lock. Let’s hope that everything goes well, for wrestling’s sake.
The WWF will be marketing wind-breakers with their own wrestlers and designs on them. They are a fashion magnet right now and the WWF wants a piece of that lucrative market.

Not to harp on the ratings, but everyone made a big deal about the departure of the Hart Foundation as the death bell tolling for the WWF and yet they have a HELL of a lot better ratings now than then. Just something that keeps popping into my head…

Don’t look for Abdullah the Butcher to be in the WWF anytime soon. The only was I can see him in a ring is to receive an award or something.
Here is Thunder in a nutshell (for those who DID watch it)…
Well, I taped Thunder. I watched the Goldberg situation in the beginning, I fast-forwarded through the Nagata/Prince and Raven parts. No interest. I thought that the Buff interview was good. I passed the Benoit/Konnan affair, although I did notice that he had a Calgary Hitmen jersey on. Could this mean that Hart’s new group will be called the Hitmen? I noticed that Hennig is looking kind of “big”. Duggan! Whoa. I thought that he fell off the cliff. Rude is a good color man. Why are the Harts saving Duggan? (Just wishful thinking). I fast-forwarded through the Glacier/Luger mess. Fast-forwarded through the Kidman/Psychosis joke. I thought that it was pure humor to watch Jerhico. He is going to be a star. Damn! Steiner is HUGE! A champion -v- champion match? Hmmm… The Flair situation was nice. Good to see Double A and Teddy again. Nash gives a good interview.
Everyone is talking about Vader and his shape. Hey, as long as he’s not round and tubby, he’s got a better chance at that belt.
And to end the day…Rey Mysterio Jr. has stated that he is keeping the window of opportunity open at the end of his contract…(cough…WWF…cough).
