Hey, this is the Balrog here with another update that’s chock full ‘o news! Sorry if I seem really chipper today, but I’m feeling REALLY good!
Here’s one for ya…BUBBA LOVE SPONGE & JIM DUGGAN defeated the TEXAS HANGMEN last night at Malice @ the Palace. Bubba Love Sponge. Hmmm…it’s like a mix of the 1992 WWF and the 1960 NWA! Ha ha! I love it!
Apparently, the WWF may want to give Ahmed Johnson another chance. He will be competing in the NWA for a little bit and working some of the smaller promotions that are affiliated with the NWA. The thing is that he’ll be using his WWF ring name. This could either mean that he is being tested in the NWA to see whether or not he can be trusted in the ring or that the WWF is being nice to their NWA friends and letting them use the Ahmed gimmick to get bigger numbers at their shows. Only time will tell.
Look for Jeff Jarrett to be involved with the National Anthem at the Unforgiven PPV. Ain’t he great? Lookysee wha good ol’ Tennessee Lee dun did fer him already!
I have gotten a few e-mails asking when we should expect to see Shawn Michaels in the WWF again. Well, if you replay your RAW tapes, he is not in any of the Degeneration X promo videos (the stuff that they play when they walk to the ring) and that there was really no emphasis on a rematch between him and Austin. However, it is well-known that Shawn’s back is shot. He will be getting surgery and then rehabilitating his back so that he can return. All in all, I’d look for him to get back into the ring either at the end of the summer or in the middle of the fall.
Speaking of Degeneration X, it looks like our favorite Amazon, Chyna, may be on her way out of the rebel group. Hey, if you ask me, she has a “stone cold” look on her face…
Also with DX, don’t look for X-pac to steal the Lightweight Title right away. The WWF wants him to get that neck in shape while using those three Japanese guys in a feud with Taka Michinoku.
Following the popular WWF Ring Music, the WCW will also be selling a ring themes CD. It is one of the things that Jimmy Hart is keeping himself busy with.
You’re sitting in the ECW Arena, you hear the Sandman’s music play, you stand up, take a deep breath, and…boo as hard as you can! The ECW is looking to make the extreme nutcase a heel in the near future. I don’t think it will work. I have a feeling it will fade off like the supposed Flair heel turn. He is just too respected.
I am trying to get my Snappy going so that I can add a Wrestlemania Gallery with pics from this year’s event and past events. If it is not up soon, look for it in the next few weeks.
