With the oncoming of three hours of NITRO next week, there will be plenty of wrestling for us internet nuts to gossip over. Yes! This week I put together some thoughts on various issues…
Tyson/Austin
I’d rather see a rematch from last year’s King of the Ring between Michaels and Austin, but a toughman fight between these two guys would fill my palette as well!
Hall -v- Zbysko
We all know that there will be no more jobbing for Scott Hall in the very near future, but it would be nice to see Larry kick Hall’s butt all over the ring. As far as this match goes, I am a firm believer that Hall will win the match, but being a fan of wrestling present and past, I’d LOVE to see Larry come out on top and finally state his claim as the Living Legend.
Rocky Maivia
It is obvious that this guy has tremendous potential in the wrestling world. I offer only a sampling of advice. Don’t take it all at once. After first winning the IC title as a rookie, the chants began. Establish yourself (he’s doing a damn fine job of it!).
nWo Ready to Go?
Long overdue in my opinion. Let’s face it, the greatest stable in all of pro-wrestling is just wilting away. Each week, the Scott Hall nWo -v- WCW survey is a complete joke with the WCW winning big time. Even some of the personas are starting to get irritating. Bischoff is made to look like a loud-mouthed junkie, Hogan who is perhaps the greatest name of our time is made out to be a coward, Nash is made to look like he is afraid of the Giant. It is so aggravating! The only sane person that I see in the nWo is Macho!
Degeneration X
The WWF gave up one of its legends to have Shawn Michaels and HHH stay with the company. The only problem that I see with this whole thing is that neither of these guys want to lose. We all know that Hunter is not on the level of some of the other WWF talent, but we will not see him lose as long as he is a part of DX and as long as Michaels is in the WWF. Not that he is not a great athlete, but it is not right for people like Owen Hart and Dude Love to job to him at house shows. Michaels as champ has been successful, but there are some things that a champ must have that he doesn’t have. He doesn’t have a HUGE fan support (sure the girls like him, but that’s about it). I know that there are some guys who like to watch him because he is funny, but the way that he helped double-cross Bret and his belly-aching in the past make him look like less of a champion. If he had only won that belt fairly…
NITRO 3 HOURS!
Is it too much? Or in the words of Tony Schiavonne, is it not enough to fit it all in? We’ll see!
